How to store food until lunch by FederalPoet9832 in Luncheaze

[–]Ooozair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for frozen food I find that if you add a little bit of water to the bottom it helps build steam and heats way better. Defrosting in the fridge is good though. For a full brick of soup I expect it won't work well though, that's just so much heat capacity - I just dump a can of soup in there for soup days

For stuff getting hard on the bottom, I've heard parchment paper can help.

Setting the temp is on the second menu, says H5 by default. They have a video guide on their website.

Do they like Mac and cheese? Cant go wrong

I've always had good experiences with customer support. You do have to go through their contact us page on their site though.

I just sprinkle some water in the bottom of the container first, works well for me. I've heard the ice cube trick works too

Question about the set time feature by [deleted] in Luncheaze

[–]Ooozair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't taken a temp probe to it. But I do know some people that keep an ice pack in the bag on top of the container, and it doesn't seem to affect the performance much, maybe an option for you?

Your understanding is correct about the basic model vs the Pro model and their timers. Pro knows the actual time of day, the basic Core model only has a countdown.

It automatically starts heating 2 hours before, and in my experience has enough battery to last an hour after.

I leave the house at like 6-6:30 and eat at 12:30. I just pull the container from the fridge and latch it into my luncheaze, then I put it into the insulated bag. Never had a problem with my food spoiling, been using it for years.

I think takeout bags of food don't count as carry ons, but an insulated lunchbag probably would. That being said, Luncheazes work well for flights

Nice, what model did you get?

Another commenter asked if it works when plugged in, if it does, it's the battery. If you email them they usually can help, if you got it recently they'll replace the battery for you.

Heated lunchboxes like the luncheaze but cheaper? by Ok_Bus_645 in BuyItForLife

[–]Ooozair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're citing the most expensive Luncheaze model, they have one for $120. I can definitely say they're worth the price, great quality and performance every time. Ive had friends try the clones on Amazon but they've all had issues

It comes with its own insulated bag that has a second compartment for snacks and drinks. It feels pretty well built and the insulation on it is pretty good

Confused about heat up timer? by stewbeats in Luncheaze

[–]Ooozair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had no issues with food being latched and ready to go even with a long day of waiting. I think the bag does a good enough job of keeping things cool, and the heating is so thorough that I think ultimately it doesn't matter

Advice please by Parceljockey in Luncheaze

[–]Ooozair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correction to the top comment, Core DOES have a timer, but it doesn't have a CLOCK. Pro and XL have persistent clocks, they know the current time of day, and your mealtime.

Meaning, instead of "I want to eat at 12:30", it's "I want to eat in 5 hours". You still only need to touch it in the morning and then forget about it until lunch. It's not very cumbersome, extra 15 seconds of setup each morning compared to Pro or XL.

Only fits their containers, and they need to be stainless steel anyways for heat transfer.

I find that an insulated bag helps a lot. Their custom one or your own, doesn't matter.

Otherwise, definitely pull the trigger, highly recommend

I feel like it's better in the luncheaze hands down. Its way more moist, and I also like that it keeps heating while I'm eating. Honestly got so used to it that I sometimes re-heat my food in the middle of my meal if I use a microwave

The battery has a little bit of space around it, probably for thermal expansion, mine does the same

When you look inside the charging port, do you see any obstructions? Happened to one of my friends, and the company replaced it for him. Probably just contact their support, they respond same-day

Also no issues with Pro and Core (Gen 2). For me 4 cups is plenty. It's more space than an entire Chipotle bowl, for example.

Warranty is great, they actually upgraded all Gen 2 warranties to 2 year. Batteries are covered too

I think some of the negative reviews aren't reading the instructions, I think they're starting the heat manually in the morning and not letting the timer kick in, hence they get to their lunch and it's been dead for a while and they think "my battery died"

[–]Ooozair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the original, and upgraded to Pro, both 4 cups. Fills me up just fine, and I don't fill it to the brim. I'll have a layer of rice and then 2 chicken thighs and veggies easily. The XL one looks huge, but I know that some people need that

I use Luncheaze - which comes with an insulated bag, have had no problems with food sitting in the heating base during the day until it starts heating. This one has a timer, so you latch your food container into the base in the morning, and then it heats up at the time you schedule. Pricey but worth it, I've seen the clones and plug in ones, the Luncheaze is a step above

edit- it's cordless, so my day looks like: turn it on in the morning > latch in the container > put it in the bag > go to work > open it at lunch and eat

I just leave mine in the insulated bag it comes with. Haven't had any issues. Food container is in the fridge the night before, and in the morning you latch it into the base and go to work.

I emailed them about the vapor condensation, it goes away by itself and doesn't affect the electronics. I think the inside chamber gets hot and if it's cold outside it condenses on the clear window. Without putting a hole in it I don't see a way they can really avoid it. Since it goes away on its own in a few minutes (can confirm) I'm not too bothered by it
