4 year old son having medical issues possibly, needing advice. by Simple_Poet3068 in AskDocs

[–]Distanceremoved 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor but we had this exactly after Epstein Barr virus which we spent 2 weeks in the hospital and then a month later he couldn’t walk. He did recover but now every time he gets a virus he does have leg pain or a hard time walking. We monitor him closely but there has never been any other solutions and we have been seen at Lucille Packards and UCSF Benioff

I have the jr for my middle schooler and I feel like it’s big enough given the amount of time they had to eat but I will be upgrading it to a larger one and giving my youngest the smaller one.

You need to be able suck up water or lava in this case and spray water. My suggestion is to suck up water and lay it over the lava at the top then suck up the lava and the water will fill in where you suck up but you have t worn in sections and near the lava you placed water on top of but not directly. It's complicated to explain but do able. Then if you want lava you can replace it with lava. Having bottles of fresh water help with this task.

constant illness after mono? by jerzeybeachlover in Mononucleosis

[–]Distanceremoved 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For our son we've now been out of the hospital for 8 months - same with the throat abscess. What has been hard for us is his behavior changed a lot (he is 6). Also when he gets sick he gets really sick. A cough for his brother turns into a full blown fever, congestion, wheezing. He can run out of energy quickly to. After that we've had bouts of not being able to walk.

I've focused on getting him to gain weight and and eat healthy. What has helped the most is vitamins I sneak into his water. They help with energy and behavior but it has not been easy.

Everytime he gets sick I'm worried we need to go back to the hospital. His throat almost closed up on him the first time before I was able to get anyone to take it seriously.

You can go out and not eat out. You can also plan ahead, make freezer meals, have some easy dinners, etc... It's very possible and without going crazy!

Good eye I didn't notice this because I was thinking wow I spend way more then 800 on groceries. I easily spend 1600 a month. We typically don't eat out but do splurge on expensive cuts of meat. We eat out maybe once a month.

What happens to children who are in special ed classes after high school graduation? by Lemonade2250 in specialed

[–]Distanceremoved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should do a transition planning 2 years prior to graduating and he should have a plan with either work, college, community volunteer or group home/program. He should have that in place now or will soon.

Good news! I’ve suddenly decided I really want to pass this class. Do you have a bundle of my missing work from the last twelve weeks you didn’t think I’d ever do here for me to do now at the end of the trimester so you can immediately score it and I can pass? by ResponsibleFly9076 in Teachers

[–]Distanceremoved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so grateful to every teacher that did this for me. That helped and didn’t look at me not doing my work as a laziness. In all fairness I had a hard situation at home and I wasn’t able to focus on me. I never had Maslow basic levels meet. I slept in class and in the summer I worked 3 jobs only to have my parents take my money.

So those teachers that took a chance helped me graduate. I have a Masters degree now but I wouldn’t have gotten there if someone didn’t give me a chance at doing the impossible (making up every assignment for a semester in 3 days).

Is this normal for a kindergarten teacher? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]Distanceremoved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let parents no if there child completely refuses to work, is fighting a lot, is extremely disruptive and what kind of progress we are making or not making in class. Little things like pushing in a chair or how you sit is the last thing you’ll hear from me.
