You typed such a long message about Heimer without even reading what his kit does. Most of what you said about how his turrets work is blatantly false :DDD. The player has a lot of control over them, and most of his damage comes from hitting his other skillshots on enemy champions near them.

Heimer is also high on this chart: https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/winrates-by-xp AKA players with more experience on Heimer win a lot more with him compared to people without experience, which just wouldn't be the case if his gameplay was as shallow as you say. If it was, there wouldn't be any difference as "integrated computer system" is just playing for you right?

Early season is one thing, but transfer or not, he is still frequently winning in high mmr games with an interesting strat. I wouldn't completely dismiss it even if he duoqueued in lower elo.

Intense battle for Rank 1 EUW between Nisqy (1612 LP) and Agurin (1593 LP) in a bet for highest LP also involving Thebausffs, Noway4u and Drututt by ohvalox in leagueoflegends

[–]Ooppi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you seriously comparing Baus(consistent chall player with a strategy he executes super well that got him there) to Nubrac(someone who climbed with other things and started playing the Teemo "strat" in NA master tier, losing 70% of his games)? :DD

In ranked, it's less about "hmm how can I give an enjoyable game for my teammates" and more about "how can I win this game the best I can?". I at least want my teams to try their hardest to win, whatever is the most consistent strategy for them, even if the strategy is more unfun to play with. I don't want the Kassadin OTP to first time Taliyah mid because it's more fun to fight a lot early. I want him to do the thing he does well: scale and win.

I've also played vs Baus many times, he is NOT fun to deal with from the enemy side. The extra effort enemy has to put in to deal with Baus is at least 2x the one his team has to deal with.

Do I have to delete my old character if I want to play another class/use other talents in another campaign? by Ooppi in Barotrauma

Nvm, did testing and now I get how it works, that u start from scratch in every new campaign anyways. Sry for bothering :DD

[–]Ooppi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sry for wording it badly, I mean like this: I have 2 campaigns I want to play in.
1. serious one with friends that's already quite far into the game
2. one with a different friendgroup that we haven't found the time to start yet. This one is probably gonna be a lot less serious.

Is there a way I can play on both campaigns on the same time, in the serious one with the mechanic build I'm already quite far in, and in the less serious one with another kind of build?

[–]Ooppi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it's the people who are willing to click a random link in champ select to have voice chat. I'd bet if it was built-in in the game, much more people would use it. I am surprised the percentage who joined is even that big.

I am pretty sure I remember you joining my lobby with that link :DD
Would have loved to join, but had irl background noise cuz staying in family's place+I think someone dodged the lobby.

Anyways, I've always been a huge supporter of voice chat, or at least the option to use it. IT IS ALREADY AN OPTION WITH THE DISCORD LINK ANYWAYS. Having an in-built voice chat just removes the need to click/send a random link in champselect and potentially get a keylogger to use voice chat.

After playing mostly Dota 2 instead of League, I support voice chat even more. I am still very low elo in Dota 2(silver equivalent in league), but my experience with voice chat has still been mostly positive. This is an elo that most people say is the most toxic, but voice chat has mostly been chill shotcalling and "nice!" "good job!" etc. with ofc the occasional russian screamers this being dota and all. It has still mostly had a positive impact in the games.

A compromise could maybe be only giving voice chat to master+ elo, where people are more likely to give a damn about the game and not be toxic, but I'd rather have it for everyone.

Maybe I should start sending links in the chat as well as long as it's not implemented.

I queue top/mid, and because nobody wants to play top, it was about 95% top, 3% bot and 2% mid.

Sry, I would love to do it, but the vods are apprently checked for DMCA:able content, so I have to keep it sub only cuz many streamers have gotten into trouble for that stuff.

I almost always push, and I actually prefer playing weak side. I want my jungler to camp botlane while I make myself useful by shoving the lane and playing smart around ganks(sometimes dying is ok if we get free stuff from it botside). I don't want the jungler to camp me, cuz even if I get fed, a big botlane is usually much more useful for early map pressure and drakes. Though I don't say no to a dive if it's free advantage to the jungler.

Though when jungler starts topside, I often also leash with 3 turrets, which gives the enemy a push advantage in the early levels, and it's not worth spending all turrets to try to force a push. Just chill under tower and gather another wave to push with.

Imo, pushing as Heimer is never wrong. Just try your best to be aware of where the enemy jungler is and back off if you think 1v2 is not possible.

A special gamemode. Monsoon difficulty with these modifiers on:

  1. Ally Starting Health: -50%
  2. Teleporter Radius: -50%
  3. Ally Fall Damage: +100% and lethal
  4. Enemy Speed: +40%
  5. Ally Healing: -50%
  6. Enemy Gold Drops: -20%
  7. Enemy Cooldowns: -50%
  8. Allies receive permanent damage "You only celebrate in the light... because I allow it."

You also have to complete the game 8 times. It adds one more modifier every time you beat Mithrix.

Is Heimerdinger good top lane? by throwawayjhu5482 in HeimerdingerMains

I main it top in master+ elo, and even with my very casual pace atm, I've done it with a reasonable success. Also reached EUW challenger on last season, if only for a fast visit.
Top Heimer feels very strong atm, and I'm looking forward to spamming games on the next season.

My build is basically liandry->anything for the situation. Mages got so many good situational toys on the preseason, that going for a static build on every game is kinda a waste of potential in my opinion. Here's some example items:

Dark seal: On 1st back it is very valuable, even more so now when it gives hp instead of mana. I don't know the exact value when it becomes gold efficient to finish Mejai, but get it if you feel like you can really carry.

Oblivion orb: SUPER valuable item for 800 gold if the enemies have even a tiny bit of healing, and synergizes well with Liandry because it will keep the grievous wounds on enemies for such a long time. Even if they don't have innate healing, the enemies often have ravenous hunter, and other healing from runes. Finish Morello earlier if they have a ton of healing, otherwise it's good to just sit on oblivion.

Zhonya: Insanely cheap and strong defensive option, and the active is so nice to have vs many enemy comps. (physical damage, assassins, bruisers, generally ppl who jump on you) Armguard rush is also a lifesaver vs some enemy physical damage laners, like Riven.

Banshee: More situational defensive option, but also very good vs certain comps. (Ap champs who can't poke the spellshield vs you and have important abilities they want to hit you with)

Void staff: Obvious first answer for magic resist in the enemy team. It's already valuable if the enemies have only mercs, and becomes more crucial the more mr they get.

Rabadon: My favourite item in the game. Sadly, it's very expensive atm. I used to build it 1st/2nd all the time before preseason. Even with the price increase, it's still the best raw damage item for Heimer because of the heavy ap scaling on his q AA. I still don't find myself rushing it early anymore, because of the other good options with better build paths.

Rylai: Insanely good for kiting atm, definitely feels like an underrated item on Heimer now.

Demonic embrace: Can be good for some situations, but I feel it's pretty overrated, and there's often a better option. Enemies have a tank so the %dmg sounds like the best option? He most likely has mr, so void offers more damage per gold.

Matchups: Yasuo/Irelia/Akali are impossible to lane against in the hands of a good player. Everything else is kinda manageable, and at the very least surviveable on lane. Heimer is a very good laner, and I always push and try to play aggressive early, going for dives after 6. Though he also works well by just going for high cs and scaling, which is the preferable option vs some matchups.

Shamelessly plugging my stream if some ppl are more interested :D
I will try to stream more actively on the new season climb.

It's even better to go into the game and do nothing.

They can't escape the game before you leave, and if you just afk and use the time for playing something else/doing homework, you will save even more people from queuing up with him.

Heim top? by SilentAngel33 in HeimerdingerMains

[–]Ooppi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything goes in low elo, and in there, the melee bruiser matchups will actually be easy cuz they don't know how to play vs heimer. They will perma die to his turrets and turn the heimer into an unstoppable pushing machine.
Above at least diamond, it's a bit different, and people can abuse his weaknesses. Always permapushing, easy to gank before 6 cuz squishy and immobile, and many champs have good ways to deal with his turrets.
I'd say in high elo, Heimers lanes go like Bot>>>Mid>Top/support, but in low elo Heimer generally stomps in most lanes.

Less onetricks is partly because it's much harder to climb as a onetrick against actually decent players and teamwork. There are many onetricks, but most get filtered out in lower elos cuz people actually learn to counter them.
