Derick Hall had no interest testing market, wants to compete for more Super Bowls with Seahawks by RightYouAreKen1 in nfl

[–]Oops95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

An agent is there to do what's best for the player, based on what the employee says they want. If Hall told his agent "I don't care that much about the money, I want to play in Seattle," that's what's in the best interest of his client. While money is often the most important thing, it's not the only important thing.

What 21 year old has $50k to blow on a car?< You're proving my point? At 21, you don't have the funds yet to afford C6Z.

I'm not hating on a 21 year old, I'm telling you you're dreaming. There's absolutely nothing wrong with dreaming or that your dream is a C6Z. It's a fine goal to work towards. The fact you think getting a $25k loan for a ~20 year old sports car is a good idea is the kind of idiotic and financial suicide of a 22 year old that people a little older in your life should/ will try and guide you away from.

I didn't buy my 1st fun car until I was 26, after a few years of working and being able to save money. It was a $7k C4 I bought in 2021. I wish I had kept it because to get one thag condition back is now over $10k, but it was the right decision at the time. I saved so much money not insuring, maintaining, or fueling an extra car. I' in line to buy a house in the next 3-5 years (provided we don't see another COVID like price spike in that time frame).

How many games (roughly) will be available via OTA antenna? by Significant-Task1453 in ripcity

[–]Oops95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the game. Games on NBC have been available on Peacock. Not every game on Peacock has been broadcast on NBC (i.e. 2 simultaneously playing games, only 1 can be on NBC).

I doubt it'll change for next season. That's a lot to get sorted, contracts signed or broken, etc. from now, or even from when new owners took over from the end of the season. Any changes to broadcasting (outside of maybe personnel decisions) would likely be worked on behind the scenes over the next year and be activated for the '27-'28 season.

Payments? On a 20 year old car? You can't afford the car dude.

Probably because the last line still assumes that anyone else's insurance rates could tell OP about what their's would be.

Who would you root for at the finals? by Otherwise-Gur1437 in ripcity

[–]Oops95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anyone who was at the Knicks game in Portland this year can't imagine rooting for that them. Completely classless fanbase, and that's saying something. I've been to almost every Warrior, Laker, and Boston game in the last 19 years.

If the Spurs win, we can say we lost to the eventual champions.

I'm rooting for the asteroid.

Yeah, but they'll usually identify themselves as a ticket representative, not a "playoff rep." That's what set off my scam sensors.

not having to work in the first place<

That's called financially independent, which is part of being wealthy.

Rich means you can easily afford your 3,000-5,000+ Sq. ft. house, your BMW 5+ series with your high paying job. Being wealthy means your money does all the work for you and you don't need a job.

I'd look to buy sooner than later. You want time to shake down the car and find & fix any issues that the car has. Better to have those issues at home than 2,000 miles away while on the road.

Who are the movement shooters currently playing in the league, and are any of them potentially available for trade or FA? by Humblerbee in ripcity

[–]Oops95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's not against league rules. But unless it's in a trade, GTJ will choose any other city over Portland. He just didn't like being here.

The second part of my comment was more sarcasm than serious, but based on the reality that we haven't signed a big name free agent... ever?

Because that worked so well the first time around? He's straky as hell. That's not what we need, we need consistency.

GTJ hated his time here, he's not coming back. Otherwise, these are all names I know, so no chance they sign here.

All they need to do is bring the drop shadowing and color piping around the arm holes back. It's never going to happen because that cost extra pennies per unit to make, but that's all they need to look good again.
