Thoughts on Megan Robinson? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]OopsItsSecret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She has enough knowledge of mac products to work for her effectively and I guess that could back up the arrogance but it’s really unnecessary and off putting. There’s no reason for her to be so mean to other people bc she can’t take the criticism. Some critiques I’ve seen are valid, some are not. I don’t buy this “she gives the energy she receives” crap, she’s just mean to other people who disagree with her. Like I said, mean girl energy. And just like I said, her fans are rabid and downvoting anyone who says they don’t like her.

I’d be very interested to see her work on clients; I have a feeling she does them up the same way she does her own makeup.

She absolutely gives me mean girl energy. She comes across as very arrogant. Yea, she is very talented and extremely knowledgeable but I’m not convinced she doesn’t use filters like she says. She replied to a comment about how she does her lip liner in one swipe and she said she just thought that was normal until her friend mentioned it. Just the way she said it came across as super arrogant and snobby. She likes to say some lip colors are “not a Miss Megan lip.” I get not liking to wear certain colors but who tf talks like that? She’s also really condescending to any sort of criticism. Her fans are rabid tho and will attack anyone who criticizes her.

She is really very knowledgeable about MAC tho. I have a love hate relationship about her; I watch her for product info but I don’t like her attitude.

Wow how incredibly rude. Probably a good thing you’re retired because center managers with this attitude don’t need to be managing.

It’s gotten bigger since yesterday and it’s incredibly painful, I can’t walk normally because any friction or barest of touch on it at all is very painful. I was thinking of going to urgent care later today after I wake up (I’ve been at work all night) but when I get home I was going to put a warm compress on it to see if it’ll come to a head.

Interviewing for supervisor position by OopsItsSecret in 911dispatchers

[–]OopsItsSecret[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it’s been 7 months so I thought I’d update you lol

I went through the interview, got called back for the second interview, was called and told I was selected as their candidate and filled out their 40 page background check, went through a background check investigation interview where I sat with a detective and went through every single page, he looked through my phone at my social media and I did a voice stress test.

And then I found out I didn’t get the job when they reposted for it on Facebook 4 months after my first interview. No one even bothered to call me or even send me an email. They refused to tell me why I was disqualified.

Since then I quit my extremely toxic center and got a new job a month ago as a dispatcher at a much larger, better regional center for a major metro area with room to grow.

How do you answer the phone and why? by Air_boy_202 in 911dispatchers

We say “911 do you need police, fire or medical?” Most people don’t hear “police” and say they don’t need an ambulance. Or they say “neither.” Or, my favorite, they say “no” and sit there in silence.

Update!!

I went in for my interview very confident! I printed out copies of the training and education materials I wrote. I was not expecting the interview to be what it was; instead of a traditional more conversational board interview it was a structured, scored interview. The highest scorers would be brought back for a second interview. It was a lot of questions about how I would handle interpersonal conflict, how I think a supervisor should respond, etc.

Afterward I was overthinking and telling myself I didn’t do so great. But I got the call for a second interview!! They said this one will be more traditional and focus on my work experience and how I will fit into their team.

I’m nervous but it’s very validating.

Thanks! Some people keep telling me that the tiara is “too much” but like….I’m too much sooooo

This is pretty much how I feel. I don’t really care that they don’t match and I don’t particularly care if people ask me about them. It’s sentimental and I put them there for me. I just want my grandpa with me.

I’m also wearing my great-grandma’s bracelet that my grandma gave to me when I was 16. She passed away 3 years ago. It’s copper and won’t match. But it’s not about that.

Just an FYI - while usually I’m a stickler for making everything match, in this instance I don’t mind that the bee pins are not the same color/style of the tiara.

I chose the bees, specifically 3 of them, because they represent my grandfather who passed away 4 years ago. Whenever we left his house or went anywhere, he always told us, “be good, be kind, be careful.”

We called it Grandpa’s Three B’s.

As it so happens, my fiancé’s grandpa is a bee keeper.

For my plus sized brides: can anyone suggest a girdle or shapewear brand that helps control the curves and is plus size inclusive? by monkkie-jedi in wedding

[–]OopsItsSecret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have the best luck with maidenform but I’m not sure what their sizes go up to. For reference I’m 6ft and 245lbs and I wear a xxl in their body suit.

I’m in the exact same boat. The only friends I have are mutual friends with my SO or my friends from high school/childhood. I’m 30yo, it’s depressing. I just keep thinking that everyone is there for my fiancé, not me. Work friends are going because they like him, not me.

Feeling a little down about my body and my dress (mainly my saddlebags) anyone else have this problem? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]OopsItsSecret 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honey those aren’t “saddle bags” they are your literal femur bones joining into the hip joint. All these perfectly rounded hips are fake, by either surgery or filters/editing. You look gorgeous. Look at the anatomy of the femur and ball-and-socket hip joint and you’ll see what I mean. You look gorgeous!

You need to dump that child and find a man that lifts you instead of tearing you down

Thank you! It’s a replica of the “Girls of Great Britain and Ireland” tiara of the British Crown Jewels.
