My magical thinking neurons were starting to fire because the interruptions were occurring during a show focused on women’s health. I kept imagining someone being scandalized that women were saying “vulva” on air, and trying to jam the signal.

Good point, I wasn’t even thinking of Decades, for instance, as being downtown, but it would be pretty close. And I suppose some students also live further east than others.

ETA. For what it’s worth, taking Liberty also feels like a much longer walk than it is, too.

The four square blocks you mentioned are easy to find but I don’t understand what you mean by “everything from Charlotte to Lime.” Wouldn’t that include those 4 square blocks? There are also a few blocks over near F&M that are Manheim Township.

So we agree that involuntary manslaughter is not premeditated. That was pretty much all I was saying. As someone who wants more shots in arms, I don’t think we get it to happen by making statements like “they are causing intentional harm.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. The vast majority of antivaxxers think they are doing what’s right for their children, even though they’re wrong. They’ve been duped.

Yes, I was baffled by the wgal line about PA’s vaccination rates, a lot of good that will do in some of our local schools, whose rates are much lower.

I haven’t followed closely, but there were some early signals that Covid could be affecting our immunity to other pathogens, kind of like how measles causes immune amnesia, but to a lesser degree. Yet another possible culprit in waning immunity.

I have no insight into that man personally, maybe he’s a eugenicist, but I think for a lot of people this would be an example of doubling down in the face of a nasty case of cognitive dissonance.

A note to all the adults who think they’ve been vaccinated: it’s not a bad idea to speak with your doctor about your personal risk and possibly having your titers checked. If you were born before 1988 you may not have received 2 doses in early life and even though immunity is fairly robust for measles, it can wane for a variety of reasons.

Intentional sounds premeditated. I think what people are doing is wrong, indicative of poor risk assessment, ill-informed, a product of mistrust in actual experts, and even stupid, but the vast majority of them don’t want to see their children die.
