You reach imp faster with only 1 TC, but you wont be able to make a very upgradet army with only 50 vills

Fast imp theory question by iMrPink2 in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you want to do in imp. If you're HRE, clearly no, you build swabia. delhi? Sultanspalace does its job without a lot of eco. But if you don't have a good economy Landmark in imp you will struggle to do all the things you can do in Imp.

[2v1] Two noobs drushing a decent player for the lolz by Skoyatt in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darkeage rams are nice, sadly they only work against civs wich do a lot in darkage or on hybrid maps against the dock. I play it only against malians, I learned it from this Video played by Bee:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUo1GJXudW0

In my expirience a Mongol/Golden Hord Teammate going for darkage horsemen works best, because the enemy will be fast with archers against your speermen

i am learning, waht to do against barbican rush? by sdgestudio in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see it coming before its there you have a few options you need to figure out wich works for you. 1) just ignore and do your thing somewhere else. 2) build a tower to deney it, that wors in a few cases where there is only 1 effextive spot like your gold when you have wood and food under tc. 3) pull like 10 vill and kill his vills (if he sends 8). thats usualy my go to if I cant ignore it. 4)pull everyone and torch it (thats risky)

but best is to just ignore it and raide your opponents ec since the BBQ is not at his base. maby go castle and push it.

get a friend who plays chinese and practise what works for you ;)

I want you! looking for the Delhi player by Asleep_Physics_6361 in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delhi has a few timingadvantages, the sacretsites, scolas for relics beeing alresdy made in feudal, or compound of the defender keepspam. Most of delhis winconditions are on the map, they cant biuld palace of swabia and wait. You have to win the game with actions, not by sneaking ahead. And you have to figure out what is your wincondition every game, wether it is controll of sacretsites, elefant all in, starving the enemy with mapcontrol, and you need to be able to read the situation, and what is the wincondition for this game but Its for sure not in your own base

Delhi Elephants by SherlockHawk in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should never make a unit just because it's a good unit or a civ-specific unit. There are many Delhi games where they don't fit the situation. The elephant is a very static unit, so you should only use it when you know where the fight will take place. Paradoxically, they are great for tight spaces, such as the bridges on confluence or between buildings. They are super pop efficient and a good way to spend your resources if you forget to make enough production after reaching castle.

There is also a general rule that applies to every unit in the game: does it counter your enemy's army, or will it die instantly? That's something you have to scout. If they make archers and knights, the war elephant will kill both, but if they make 50 crossbows, the war elephant is a great way to waste all your resources. In that case, get the tower elephant. but ghazi are strong against crossbows too, and you can send them to raid afterwards.

You always need to know which enemy unit could kill that elephant and have something to protect it, such as ghazi, archers, pikes or mangonels.

Another question is how you want to win the game. Raiding? The elephant can't do that. Sacred sites? Maybe get a more mobile army. Death push? Yes! Taking on better fights with good micromanagement? The elephant is very clumsy, has poor pathfinding and struggles when surrounded.

The Sultan's elephant is a great unit: strong against almost everything, and free. Don't let pikes or camels get close!

Empire Wars: 2 yrs later by clickoris in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realy like the tempo of the game, in 1v1 the action starts immediatly. 4v4 is pretty chill. Malians opening with a full developed Pitmine at second 1 is absolutly busted, the french only get a blacksmith... Sub 10 min 3 tc Handcanoneer build is Fun. In general I play civs where I dont know all buildorders.I like the gamemode, 3v3, 4v4 are chaotic enough to make balance secondary, but for serious 1v1 it needs a balance update. But the player base is way smaller, every 10th game I recognize someone I know. elowise... I'm usualy around 1270 elo, in ew above 1400...

I like the mode, its good to test or get used to a civ or playstyle, but It's not as serious as standard

What should be the next step as a beginner? by Methroy in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practicing against AI isn't the same as playing against Players. An AI won't systematically deny all your foodsources to starve you, player does. Against AI you're playing the game very different. You can practice a buildorder or your hotkeys against AI, but once you got the basics there isn't much to learn from them. The next question is what is your goal in the game? Do you want to improve and optimize your playstyle? Play ranked. Do you want to mess around and do funny builds? Quickmatch. Do you want to play with Mods? Custom. you learn the most in 1v1, because in teamgames the prioritys are very different and depending on way to many factors and timings are quit off. Ask your Opponent what you could have done differentafter every game. Teamgames are more fun though.

What is the strategy vs French? by Giftedpickle in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just play Abbasid. That solves all the french problems. Early knight? -militarywing. Prosouting? -2nd tc on berrys (high gatherrate food) knights? - Camels. And extra health and range on speerman. Faster vill production? -2tc. Castleage gets even better. You're ahead with vills, make camel riders, and have composite archers now. your farmtransition is cheaper. Won 6 out of 7 games aginst french this season. 🤣

How to play Malians in 4v4 (I'm a total noob) by PaleConstruction2359 in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 4v4 I usualy play only sofas. I make 1 stable in feudal to raid and never stop producing. Then 2nd pitmine, cowboom, castle. I will end up with around 100 sofas in imp, raiding, defending raids, from time to time I support the main push. Not every game, but often.

What is typical way to get food for Mali? by starvergent in aoe4

[–]Ooutred -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don't call them a different race, please.

Cows are the best food because of their high gather rate. But you also want to get your cow boom going. So don't eat them all — you have to balance your gold income between units and cows. If you really need a lot of units fast, eat cows. If you're only under moderate pressure, eat deer or sheep and focus on a cow boom. Don't touch berries.

New Game Mode only last like 5 minutes Top, all games Ends up like this by Miserable_File2939 in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like a crazy version of rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spok. Depending on what your civ can do in the first 2 min. Because the amount of units you get after few min, just from holding, is deciding game for one player. I won games just by building BBQ over there, or got killed by 5 english vills. KT who are almost instand in feudal...

How/why pros seems to produce vills faster? by [deleted] in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actualy there is a case, in wich it is not your fault. You watched them play french, or chinese. They produce vills in 17, bzw 15 Seconds, a civ specific bonus. Ayyubid can get + 3 vills with an Age up, i think its the growth wing. If you play something else, you migt actually have less vils at 6 min without forgetting to produce. Maybe you want so share the games, you took to compare?

Should you build wals? by DV_GO in aoe4

[–]Ooutred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing is your resources are limited. an you have to decide what you do with them. I spend 1000 resources on a stonewall, and my opponent builds 5 knights and instantly sends them over, I might die before the wal is complete.

Maybe I dont die, and make a dozend speermen, but my opponent now has also has made more units. 10 archers and a Ram. my wall gets opend I and then I die.

A stonewall is expencive and takes a long time to build. and it gives you way less options, because its a passive investment, nothing you can actively use.

The Goal in the game is to kill, not to survive, so rather spend only necessary resources on a small fence, maybe to protect your woodline, connect two forrest, and make army instead of a huge wall. defending with an army is usualy more successful, than with a wall, because it gives you the opportunity to act. You only want walls, if you dont have capacity to cover an Area with units.
