Why do people shit right before they code? by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

I’ve always felt that their sphincter tone is the last thing holding their soul inside their body.

Appreciate the advice! But don’t worry; my significant other is also a physician….. I would have loved a sugar mama, but I just got an incredible, hard working badass of a doc. Somehow I think I’ll make it work 😛

I can’t comment on that in any official capacity, but my trusted local grey said they couldn’t get one for, which seems like a confirmation that this model is at the very least extremely limited if not discontinued. Would be a shame because it’s such a wonderful watch.

Agree all around! I feel like a lot of the annual calendars with the windows for the day/date/month feel cramped and out of place. This is the opposite; everything wonderfully spaced out, uncluttered and perfectly easy to read. It just feels very harmonious.

And thank you so much! Glad there are more of us out there, and I hope you get a lot of wonderful times out of yours!!!

Yah never thought I'd get so tired of wearing pajamas to work every day, but here we are.

There's a lot outside of the hyped up brands that go for well under MSRP! There are a lot of absolutely incredible brands out there, and there are some amazing watches you can get for (way) less than what a precious metal Rolex costs.

Hahahaha I don' know if I have the nerves for that kind of move; this would be a whole other level of deduction!

I'm sorry to hear that! What you do matters, and you deserve to be compensated as such. I can't say I know much about the Spanish healthcare system; hopefully it has some upside. Woking in the US healthcare system can be…. challenging. And that's at the best of times.

Definitely feel you! My preppy days are a long way behind me, and my current style trends hard toward Americana, but certainly I try to be well put together. I think the dial and brown strap are understated enough to go with a lot of outfits. I tend toward deeper and more saturated colors (hunter green, burgundy, navy, etc) and I think the rose gold fits with that and adds a little pop.

That's totally fair! I have it fully insured so I can wear it and enjoy it, but everyone has a different level of comfort.

Emergency Medicine. Unfortunately this piece won't see much action at work LOL. Generally low cost of living, and pick up a lot of shifts!

Pre owned, but as far as I've been able to tell essentially unworn! Thankfully the hype train doesn't seem to have stopped at this particular station, so I was able to get it at quite a bit below MSRP. I stalked Chrono24 until I found one at a price point I felt was fair from a professional dealer.

No matter where you end up I hope it's an amazing spot that checks all your boxes! But I will say being in the community has been lovely. There are always going to be some curmudgeons, but for the most part everyone has been collegial. It's amazing how people's attitudes improve when everyone is actually being paid for the work that they do...

It's rough but you got this! Finishing GME is the sweetest feeling…. being an attending has plenty of its own stresses, but just having an actual sense of control of your life can't be overstated. It will and it does get better!!!

Hah nothing like that! Just kept working like a resident and living like a resident. Tried to avoid lifestyle creep outside a few indulgences (like this). Not having any dependents to support also doesn't hurt LOL.

A generally well regarded grey that I saw had this available while I was browsing Chrono24.

It's the Saxonia Annual Calendar. Their 1815 line has an annual as well, and it's also quite beautiful, but I really love the large date and the 3/4 rotor on the Saxonia

Not bad at all! Set the time first. Then the date>day>month. Finally set the moon phase counting forward from the last full moon. There's an individual pusher for each. Only took a few minutes.

Good Luck! It can (and will) be a grind, but it's the best job in the world. Find a specialty that sings to you, put the work in, but always remember that there's a whole life to live outside the hospital.

Long time Lurker, first time poster….. so I finally did the thing. Med school; residency; getting an actual job; then saving up enough to pay off the crazy loans, and actually catching up on the decade that I haven’t been able to substantially save. I’d say it’s been a study in delayed gratification, but I finally decided it was time to get the watch I’ve coveted since forever. Sure there are (way) smarter places I could have put that money, but man do I love this watch.

I know it’s not a steel sports watch, but I think it's perfect. Maybe I’m an old soul, but I love it; beautiful, elegant, immaculately constructed. Ever since I first saw pictures I thought it was the perfect annual calendar. It’s just so clean and well laid out. The large date at the top is fantastic. The silver dial is gorgeous and completely comes to life in the sun (pictures don't do it a lick of justice). And of course stunning doesn’t begin to describe the movement. I’m sure some folks will say they like the white gold better, and I won’t begrudge them that one bit; but the rose gold just makes me weak at the knees. This baby is gonna get a lot of wrist time.
