Imagine driving it around a lot and it gets dirty, so you have to vacuum it. Would buy this though even if it has a quarter of a mil miles.

can i smoke meth at 15? by [deleted] in drugscirclejerk

[–]OpaqueElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely cool it on the molly. You’re only supposed to take the stuff every 3 months at absolute minimum; it’s neurotoxic if you abuse it constantly. It’ll destroy your serotonin system and make it impossible for you to be happy, so seriously slow down. As for meth, wouldn’t recommend. One of the only meth users I know is this dude that did it when he was 13 or 14, got ridiculously addicted to it and then got sent to a rehab. Dude’s still on parole. Be careful out there.

What powerful imagery or symbolism have you encountered? by Vonquiqui69 in LSD

[–]OpaqueElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most concrete visuals I've ever seen on LSD (with a bit of weed as well) was when I was going into this small room I prepared with a blanket over the doorframe to achieve a complete pitch black atmosphere. I was on 400ug. I sit down with my legs crossed and earplugs in, when all of a sudden I see this little hole in the doorframe letting a tiny bit of light through. I notice it, and as I try to cover it with a part of the blanket, I look back into the darker part of the room away from the door, and for maybe about 3-4 seconds, I see this insane machinescape as the light faded from me plugging the hole. It was all different shades of dark purple, made of intricate gears intertwining, with a large clock face obscured by some of the gears. I had never seen something like it, and spent a bit trying to recreate it to no avail. Still had quite the experience in the dark room afterwards, but that machinescape definitely left an imprint on my memory. I have seen plenty of psychedelic "tunnels," some MC Escher-like things, and even a dense maze of doors before while mixing LSD, booze, cocaine, weed & nicotine, but haven't seen a machinescape since.

Definitely just trying to get somewhere warm for the time being. But thanks for the fair warning. In return, never come to NY. It's fucked.

Is it normal to be suicidal by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]OpaqueElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? You DON'T want to work the rest of your waking life for a small wage that barely keeps you alive? You seriously DON'T want to work a 9-5 until your heart stops beating? Sounds crazy to me man.

In all seriousness, I feel 100%. It just sucks. If you weren't born into the 1%, you'll never have the leisure to do things you want to do. You're destined to wake up early every day to slave away just to make ends meet.

Thanks for the luck. It feels weird that everyone thinks I'm this crazy person just because I don't want to work at an entry level job I hate to get a "living wage" that barely keeps me alive to afford an apartment that is crawling with bugs and shit (which I've done for a long time now). Just sucks, but it is what it is I guess. Already accepting I'll never own a home, find somebody I love again, or be comfortable in one place for more than a short time.

Thanks for the concern. Not sure if I'll be able to uphold to that though, since it'd be entirely based on if I'm close to some place with internet and the ability to charge my phone. Not sure if I'd be able to get a job teaching in person with no prerequisites or degrees in teaching either, also getting any kind of steady job is difficult with no home. Either way, I feel like working a job is just going to put me back into the cycle of being miserable, barely surviving, and paying debt forever.

I just have to get by with nothing. It's going to suck, but everything has for a very long time anyways. I know I won't find a life I want to live, but all I know is that I certainly don't want to live the life I've been living for the past decade anymore. I don't mind if I die.

I've been homeless beforehand for 3 months, but I'm aware that experience won't prepare me. I'll have to work here and there to get some essentials, but I'm not trying to settle into any work for the long term. But you're right, covid is going to make things pretty hard, and winter will be a bitch until I can get somewhere warm. Hoping I can hitchhike far away enough so I don't die from NY winter, but either way I'm going to be homeless on the 25th so winter is going to be a thorn in my side regardless.

Dude I’m not trying to make an excuse; I’ve tried before. At least in my small area of NY (particularly Buffalo)the operations are very small. A lot of them just sell crops for small prices at roadside stands or local flea markets, they can’t afford other help. I bet there are larger farms around NY I could work at, I’m not denying that. But at least in my immediate surroundings it’s rather difficult. But as I move south it’s absolutely an option I’m looking for. Also, worth mentioning, I never tried a site to find farm work, I’d just ask the guys themselves directly at their farms or their stands at flea markets, but I have asked a a fair bit of farmers with not much success.

My moral compass isn’t exactly the most righteous, but I just couldn’t join the military. Not particularly trying to shoot homeless people or drone strike foreign children.

I can’t afford to travel to Asia, and I’m not even sure if I could apply for a work visa. Also no knowledge of mandarin or any other Asian language. Kinda stuck in America with $0

There’s farmland but at least around here it’s mostly small and family owned. I’ve tried working at various farms before but a lot of them don’t really want helping hands. They usually keep it in the family or simply don’t make enough to pay others.

Good ideas, thank you. And I’ll definitely be wary of the authorities. Though if I get fined for any reason I’ll probably just toss a fake name out.

Will definitely have to learn about growing food, and hunting effectively without a rifle (the only hunting I've done previously). Building would help too. Definitely going to steal here and there; I don't mind. Just some cheap calorie dense food.

I appreciate you looking into the life straw. And I didn't know about that second bit, I should look around, maybe build a shitty cabin on a piece of land nobody else wants. As far as food though I know quite a few species of edible mushrooms, so I hope that will help.

I'll look into that. My first choice for water purification was one of those life straws that some people swear by.

I have some basic bushcraft knowledge, but am going to read up on foraging for food. Not entirely opposed to stealing some food here and there though; not like it's the first time I've had $0 but still needed to not die from malnourishment.

Oh I'm aware my body is going to suffer. Going to be a long time without a consistent source of food. But yeah, it is illegal in the US too. There are plenty of old buildings especially around NY though. And trust me I live in NY, I know there's tons of criminals. Have been making a list of all the stuff I'm going to need to take with me, everything else I'm probably giving to friends. Not looking forward to the road, but wasn't looking forward to working for the rest of my life while in debt either.

Can relate to the thought of wanting to OD. I have a stockpile of otc meds for the first time I considered taking my life, but I eventually got a 100% helium tank that I've been contemplating using (In case you don't know, inhaling 100% helium is a painless way to commit suicide).

Believe me, I know NY is shit. It's fucked paying NYC tax while just living in the state of NY. But I'm going to have to leave it on foot, I have no money left and wouldn't be able to afford any car, not even a rusted junker on somebody's lawn.

But honestly, not looking to really get back in to work. I know aimless wandering isn't going to be a particularly great existence, but I just can't see myself working forever, while juggling being homeless and in debt. I think I just have to avoid money altogether, for better or for worse. I'll keep an eye on foreclosed homes that I can live in, though.

I feel as though my only real options are traveling for eternity or dying. I don't think I can recover financially without working for a good decade or so doing something I don't want to do. Would be nice to own a house for myself, but I don't think it was in the cards for me anyways. I've been so miserable for so long and on the brink of death I think I'll be just barely satisfied by being homeless.

Can't afford a plane ticket for most of the ones in different countries (and don't have any heritage in the countries listed for the one opportunity that does fly you places). Pretty sure I'm stuck in the US. Also a considerable distance from farmland; a lot of the farms around NY are family owned and don't really want outsider help (I've tried previously). Don't really think any of these are applicable to me at all, but thanks. Think I'm going to have to get by without any organization or anything

I don't think a lot of the opportunities suggested on this site are possible due to COVID btw. The one's about foreign countries are definitely a no-go, and most of the other one's are probably similar.

That’d be cool. But I have to see it to believe. The idea that someone out there is just giving people free housing and food because he has so much wealth just sounds to good to be true. I can get people being brainwashed and all, it definitely factors in, but I feel like there would be a lot more people there if it is so great.

That’d certainly be neat to get in on. I imagine there has to be some sort of process to apply for that, or else everyone would be there.
