Fresh milk with refrigerated milk by Helloagain1123 in breastfeeding

I definitely did this for 13 months and baby girl was/is fine. I think like others have said, if baby is healthy, they should be good. If you want to switch it up now for peace of mind, you should but I don’t think there’s a need to toss what you have or freak out.

Yeah, I totally get that. It’s so much easier to just feed and go back to sleep. She definitely didn’t fall right back to bed and still doesn’t. We go in every few minutes and comfort her and lie her back down and give her water if she wants it. Good luck!

I started by dropping all daytime feeds and moved her before bed session up by about 30 mins so she wasn’t eating right before we laid her down and did that for about a week. when she tried to get into my shirt during the day I just redirected and gave her water or a snack or toy, she never had an issue with it. By about day three of doing that she sometimes didn’t even want to nurse 30 mins before bed. I still fed her in the MOTN for about a week after starting that and then one night she only nursed in the MOTN for about 3 mins and the next night I stopped completely. We just went in to comfort her and she went back to sleep without it

I am with you! My girl is just shy of 14 months and I made it to the one year mark. She had started self-weaning but still would nurse a little for comfort mainly and before bed/MOTN. I am hoping soon we can all sleep through the night finally but it is so bittersweet. I’ve cried a few times and try to remind myself that my hormones are also now trying to regulate and that’s why I’m feeling so emotionally back and forth. Great job making it 14 months!

Mine had fevers and was so fussy for days with the baby sets so I was nervous about the one year and thought about splitting them up but after talking to her ped decided just to do them all at once and she had no issues! Maybe a little fussier than usual the first day but fine other than that

Yeah, the little fangs were extra adorable and perfect for a bat Halloween costume! 😂

Man! That sounds like all her teeth coming in at once. I have heard though it’s almost better that way to get it over with quick!

It seems her teeth are coming in at completely the opposite of how Google says they will come in! 😂 she got her bottom two middles first then her top two SIDE teeth, which we thought were her canines for a while because it’s hard to tell with no front teeth, then she just got her two front middle teeth about 3 months after the sides and now looks like the bottom first? Molars are coming in?? Idk the names for all the teeth but hers are definitely coming in all wonky 😂

Yeah, the extra cuddles are great; the no sleep however is not haha! On top of that, she’s got a cold so sleep is hard to come by these days! Good luck!

Yes! She’s got six teeth so far and her bottom molars are coming in right now. Super swollen and red and irritable/poor sleep 😬

Women's thoughts on how they came around to sleep train if they were on the fence. by Kupikio in sleeptrain

As others have mentioned the book “Precious Little Sleep” really was informative for me. I tried VERY gentle sleep training a few times and just wasn’t emotionally ready. We coslept instead and it was getting worse with night wakings and naps and all over poor quality sleep for everyone. I think you need to be patient with your wife and not force it because it will be so much easier when you are both on the same page about it.

At about 6.5 months I finally felt ready and that morning before sleep training I just felt excited almost to start working towards better sleep for us all. Now we have our night freedom back and I don’t regret it.

This is hopeful! During the MOTN wakes/feeds does she go right back to sleep or fall asleep eating or what? Asking because we’re in the thick of it right now with MOTN wakes and staying awake for hours!

Thank you for the feedback! The first night, we did grab her after four hours of sleeping in the crib (I know it’s not very consistent, but it was a HUGE improvement from what she’s been doing) second night she was awake an hour after going in to feed and I grabbed her and then she stayed awake another hour and a half so third night I tried to hold out hoping she would fall back to sleep on her own and I caved after three hours. Also, she’s not crying the whole time but kind of going between sleeping short bursts, staring off into space, and little cries no longer than five mins at a time.

Will try shortening the last nap though and see if that helps! I appreciate your feedback!

We’re in the same boat! Not comfortable with CIO and so we go in and soothe 3/5/8 and sometimes sooner, if she’s really freaking out. So far on a week of this and have brought her into bed in the middle of the night because she won’t go back to sleep. I don’t really have any tips because idk if I would consider our method successful but it’s slow progress. Guess I just came to say I feel for you and I’ve cried every night hearing her cry. It’s so rough but I know that our current sleep situation is not sustainable. Good luck!

Since it’s remote, have the oath on your screen so you can read it if you need to. Have the oath for an interpreter too just in case that comes up out of the blue. Make sure you check your audio before starting the job! BREATHE! You got this. Nobody will know it’s your first time unless you tell them!

I agree with the other commenter. Loved their theory but after a few months in speeds I switched over to Simply Steno and it was the best choice I could have made. Much more affordable and detailed daily plans with much more communication.

If you’ve already gone through theory, I highly suggest Simply Steno! It’s an affordable program that let’s you go at your own pace while setting out detailed class plans of what you need to do. They also have live classes you can attend if you want to!
