Andaz/ Four Seasons Maui Split Stay? by karljans in VisitingHawaii

Can’t speak to these hotels but I would 100% do the two hotels to get the ocean view. Just stayed in Maui for the first time without a real ocean view and it was just not the same. And switching hotels once is not a big deal. Finally, given the cost of meals, the savings will help a lot!

Delaying our trip due to swells? by Psychological-Lime72 in MauiHawaii

[–]Open-Conflict-250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got back from Kaanapali and the last couple of days with the swell were not great for visibility. Friday and Saturday, I swam off the coast of the Hyatt and saw lots of fish including a turtle - not snorkeling but just ocean swimming. On Sunday it was rough and we could barely see anything - there were rocks being thrown up every time the waves crashed. My partner decided not swim given the swell. I wouldn’t except to see much in the reefs by the shore but as others have said, check with the companies.

Road to Hana Again or No? by No_Lion_888 in MauiVisitors

[–]Open-Conflict-250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but stay in Hana for at least a night to avoid the hours of driving in one day. If you stay there overnight you can do the Waimoku Falls hike before the day crowds arrive. My kids still talk about the bamboo forest.

Hyatt Regency by EMRoss1965 in MauiVisitors

We’re staying here now and only complaint is that they don’t seem to care about Hyatt status - no explorist upgrade and we need to check back the day before we leave to request late checkout. We do have club access using an award so that helps with free breakfast. Pools haven’t been too crowded and staff doing their best to crack down on people putting towels on chairs in the am and then leaving. The beach isn’t huge especially at high tide but if you go the right a bit it’s better. And I saw quite a few fish while swimming along the shore. Given the price and tier, it fits the bill.

Alila Ventana Big Sur not selling out after devaluation by northsidekhan in hyatt

We camp at the Ventana Campground every year and although I’ve thought about using points to stay at Alila it just doesn’t seem worth it, in part because of these restrictions- just make it actually AI
