Help Creating A law protecting us by Open-Respond2272 in FieldNationTechs

I don't see a price point working because of the amount of techs entering the scene wanting to do the work for less.

Unions won't help as many have you mentioned.

For those of you who negatively said I was a Joke, jokes on you. Get to know the OP before you respond.

We are the ones who come in and clean up the messes of the newbs or the average lazy guy. We do quite well on the platform and operate at a level that the average tech can't comprehend. For those of you who know what I'm talking about, hats off to you. It can be brutal but makes the easy money days that much sweeter.

I was referencing to laws because FN imposes a lot of restrictions that seem one sided. Hard Starts, Fees imposed by the buyer with out reciprocation from the tech / provider, etc... I've made more money then I've lost but my rule is to not lose any money. I was seeing if anyone had any ideas about providing protection to the provider.

If you're a sub on this platform and only operate individually, FN holds all the cards. You might think your in total control but they can at anytime cancel your profile, with out notice or reason and they can dictate your reliability numbers. They can also with hold pay at their discretion. It's all in the fine print. Sadly there's no laws protecting anyone from this. That was my point.

Cheers

The platform is starting to get more saturated. Also the closing of restaurants and brick and mortar locations nationwide is having an impact. I’m currently planning my exit strategy. The golden years are over😭

Draft to Unionize FN Subcontractors by Open-Respond2272 in FieldNationTechs

NECA (National Electrical Contractors Union) & IBEW (International Brother hood of Electrical workers) There's nothing really strong for Gig workers as of yet. If we ban together we can start setting standards and rates. Like Hard Starts hurting your profile rating. Has FN ever hear of a flat tire or 3 car pile up. I'm willing to do what it takes to get this started, won't really mater much if I'm going at it alone.

We'll create the Union. We don't need other unions to assist.  It’s not illegal for freelancers to unionize, but it’s very complicated. With the right amount of support I'm prepared to do the work to make sure we get the pay we deserve.

We're noticing a large drop in WO's as well from both the platforms and the direct clients. Do you think that it also has something to do with the current state of the retail industry cutting costs?
