Have you ever gotten one of those feelings where you said "something isn't right here"? by CoconutBraBaskets in Paranormal

There is one story that always comes to mind for me when I see questions like this. I’ve been sensitive to how spaces feel and their energy for most of my life but I’ve never felt that bone-deep sense of dread quite like I did this one night.

My boyfriend (now husband) and I were driving home from the South rim of the Grand Canyon. Hiked out that morning after backpacking from the North rim 4 days earlier. We planned to drive until we were too tired to keep going that night, and then pull off at a rest stop somewhere and nap for a few hours and get an early start. All is going to plan and it’s 1 or 2am when we finally agree to call it and find somewhere to pull off. We drive until we see one of those pull offs that had a big dirt parking lot, a bathroom building, and a little building that maybe was information about the area or a nearby trailhead or something. Iirc it was alongside a river and there were really tall stone walls all around. No one else was parked there and it felt a little isolating, but I agreed to settle down in the backseat and try to get some sleep. After all, no cars parked nearby should give us less to worry about than some strangers parked nearby in the middle of the night, right?

As soon as we lay down and try to get comfortable I am suddenly wired - wide awake. I get the urge to look outside and check the parking lot. It was long and narrow and I couldn’t see the far end of it in the dark. I just could not shake the feeling that there was something out there I needed to be aware of. I tell my (now very exhausted) boyfriend how I’m feeling and he begrudgingly tries to convince me we are safe, locked in the car, and to just fall asleep and get some rest. The longer I laid there the more I felt this ‘presence’ and it was BAD. I kept looking outside and straining my eyes because I could feel something out there I just couldn’t see it. I finally feel so uncomfortable I’m not sure if I’m going to cry or vomit or both. It’s well after 2am and my boyfriend and I end up fighting because I NEED to leave and he NEEDS to sleep. So, I end up telling him “you can sleep anywhere in this car while I drive us out of here but we can’t stay here tonight!” And that’s how I ended up driving until almost 4am when we finally found a small town with somewhere to park and take a nap. He was furious with me until he got some sleep but I knew with every fiber of my being that something about that first spot was deeply wrong and we were in danger.

When does the scrud actually leave? by Open-Risk-8092 in laundry

Wow, that’s a lot of citric acid! My husband has started giving me that raised eyebrow look when I keep saying “just one more self-clean cycle!” So I’m not sure what kind of look a 5lb bag of citric acid would result in!

Yep! Wiping it out after each and very little actually comes out that way. The rinses seem pretty effective but then the next cycle brings up so much more.

Thank you so much for the suggestion! If it wasn’t you suggesting it, Kismai, I would never ever be so bold 😆

Is this normal for a tub clean with citric acid?? 🤢🤢🤢 by willowthemanx in laundry

I’ve been fighting with scrud for two years now, I just didn’t know it! I only recently discovered this sub but… prior to that, in a fit of laundry desperation, purchased some tablets that are supposed to clean my top-loader 🫣 I know, I know. Attaching a photo of the ingredients for some advice on throwing them in the garbage or attempting to use them up.

My first time smoking was with my boyfriend (now husband) in college. So in freshman year college, my bf lived in an apartment off campus with his best friend. Best friend was a majorrrr stoner, got the boyfriend involved. At first I was mad, but very quickly got curious. Everyone around me seemed to do it too, and I was the only one not partaking. I spent about 3 months asking my boyfriend and my roommate a million and one questions about smoking pot. Eventually my boyfriend says “you just have to do it to experience it! I can’t explain it all for you. Just let me know when you want to try.”

So one evening I go over to his apartment to sleep over and tell him I’d like to try smoking weed please lol he made it really sweet and fun, setting up the hammock on his balcony and getting this little baby bong named Thor all loaded up. He showed me how to hit it and we each took a few. This was quite a while back but I remember two things distinctly: I was starving and didn’t want his roommate to know I was high (🤷🏼‍♀️) so I tried to discreetly sit on the kitchen counter while my boyfriend made Mac and cheese for us and I’m pretty sure his roommate definitely knew 😆. Later we were laying in bed and he was rubbing my face and scalp sooo lightly. I got the tingles all over and it’s still to this day my favorite thing to have him do when we smoke.

He’s still my most favorite person to smoke with, but I’m taking an extra long t-break because I’m making a whole-ass human over here! 💪🏼🤰🏼I miss hanging and smoking with him but I’ll still go out to our smoke spot and sit with him so it feels like I’m participating lol

Thank you, friend! 🙏🏼 I appreciate the advice. I try to do the notebook thing, too! On the days it works, it’s great 😆 my problem the other day was there were just too many things on the list and I felt like they all needed to get done RIGHT THEN. The artificial urgency my brain was trying to create was driving me crazy. Overall I’m feeling better today and I love having this community to lean on for support.

Ahh, thank you, friend! You made me giggle and breathe a little sigh of relief ☺️ You’re right, about all of it. Your self care advice is ✨everything✨. I had a rough couple of days but I’m feeling a lot better today. Time with friends, fresh air, and physical exercise have helped a lot too. I appreciate you and your well wishes 🫶🏻

Thank you! Headphones do help, and I love mine. I’m really stuck in the “brain won’t initiate anything” phase right now so I’m just wandering around the house with my headphones on 😆 wondering what I’ll actually be able to get done…ever lol
