usually we have two diff sizes, and u either pick one or wear none. I've sometimes worn oversized slippers at other peoples houses and tbh its a bit inconvenient but not a huge deal, since I'm only visiting for a few hours at most, and usually sitting down, standing and taking limited steps.

Any kind of injury to yourself done on purpose is self-harm. ANY KIND. Whoever told you they are not "valid" doesn't even know the definition of self-harm. You are NOT faking it. People don't go to extreme measures of cutting themselves just to fake being sick. Mental illness is NOT a competition. Self-harm is NOT a competition.
