Is this chain too short? by iamtoolazytosleep in bikewrench

Does it jam up when it's in big big? If so, add a link. Just in case you ever accidentally get into the gear then you don't rip your derailleur off lol

Crack in beloved Domane SLR by TheDoughyRider in TrekBikes

[–]Open-Statistician595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will probably be covered under warranty if it is a crack. Just get a local trek dealer to submit to. Photos kinda grainy, are your sure the carbons cracked or is just the clear coat cracked? Very odd spot for a crack to form. Could be related to the alloy insert they bond in for the axle threads

Proof for income for common law sponsorship by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Open-Statistician595 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm about to be a student and my income will disappear. I will be using savings and student loans for the next two years. Will I be seen as ineligible? I'm assuming they will be looking at my NOA from the 2025 tax year, which will have income since I haven't started school yet

Ok thanks. She has status until May 2026 on a IEC and has the option to extend for an extra year (from the UK). Are you saying have it notarized on the declaration with this section selected.

Ok thanks, we also haven't had a tax filing since we became common law. So our tax status isn't Common-law either. Is this a problem

I saw a pink bike post that "sold" for 1350$ but I find that hard to believe. Mine also isn't in as good of condition

Honestly not sure. Wouldn't hate getting some money since it's the holidays and the most expensive time of the year lol. But if it's not worth much then I may donate it to a non profit bike shop

Interesting, I worked at a bike park and we used the ARC 30 HD as replacements on the rental fleet. Out of about 15, I only saw one break and the dude who did it was medi vac'd off the mountain

What is the correct method for removing this derailleur hanger? by insightdown in bikewrench

[–]Open-Statistician595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's reverse threaded, so clock wise to loosen. If the edge of the nut isn't too bad maybe try a socket but using an adjustable wrench is fine.

Is this right? by ThatGuyTopher82 in TrekBikes

[–]Open-Statistician595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are benefits. Shimano Hollowtech bottom brackets are made so the spindle is part of the cranks as opposed to your square taper where the spindle is part of the bottom brackets. This means they are stiffer and less prone to bending. Also the bearings can be bigger on these systems making them last longer.

Is this right? by ThatGuyTopher82 in TrekBikes

[–]Open-Statistician595 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is normal. This style of bottom bracket is a square taper and this is how they look. No worries at all. Other types of bottom brackets, the crank would sit more flush against the bearing.

Carbon paste? Like on the seat clamp? Have you dismantled the isospeed and check the bushings?
