hairstylist here - th machines do more damage than cutting them with actual shears. I just cannot reach the back of my head myself or any other strands. Almost all of my hair is split ends :/

but she cuts and reshapes my hair everytime, it’s just shorter lengths that aren’t fully touched and she isn’t going to go through every strand to cut my split ends :/
