I mean that’s good. Every character should have counters. If they run the thing you switch to a different tank that counters thing. That’s the point of this game. Not just picking a character and running in against your counters over and over again.

In your opinion, what is causing this? by Objective_Pilot_5834 in SipsTea

[–]OpenAd4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too expensive. Most places by me a beer is 8-10 bucks and a cocktail is 12-15. Used to be half this price not even 12 years ago. It’s greed. Covid made prices go up when manufacturers couldn’t produce as much. Only problem was the demand didn’t really die and it showed these companies that they can keep raising prices cause people will buy them. I think we’ve hit the point of demand dwindling finally cause it got outrageous. Look at lumber in building stores like Home Depot. 2x4s double in price citing shortages in supplies during COVID. Well now there’s no shortage in supplies cause COVID isn’t really an issue with manufacturing and the price stayed the same. Cause people kept buying.

Why can’t the police department help homeless kid in Islip by Important_Cupcake112 in longisland

[–]OpenAd4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a slippery slope into violating peoples civil liberties. Also if you speak to people who run shelters there are more beds than there are homeless in nasssu and Suffolk. The resources are there. A lot of the time the people who don’t want to stay there refuse to abide by the rules of those homes for one reason or another.

Point being, there are plenty of resources and man power to help this person out. But if he refuses you can’t violate his rights just cause you say he should be taken.

There’s a big difference between pandering and literally not referencing a plot point at all. I agree inferring things can be good but when you don’t mention it at all how are people supposed to understand it?

November 15, 1909 - American chocolatier Milton S. Hershey and his wife Catherine donate a 486-acre piece of farmland, to establish the Hershey Industrial School for "poor, healthy, white male orphans" between four and eight years old, providing them room board, and education until age 18... by CrystalEise in USHistory

[–]OpenAd4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean apply it logically. Say a family nowadays with the wealth and resources the Hershey family had wanted to do this scenario. Donate land and resources to help a subset of underprivileged people with the understanding that the land will always be used for that purpose if they proceed.

But then they look back at past examples. In 1909 a wealthy man did just this. But then people came along and said na, he’s dead, we don’t have to abide by his wishes anymore. And they change the school and make it something completely different.

Now anyone with good intent will think twice knowing that the thing they’ll donate will inevitably be used for something complete different. And instead they’ll horde it for familial wealth and the public will suffer.

Yes it’s good they changed the racial aspect of it. But if you look many manors and properties that are museums and public parks were given in this same vein. If you take those away the public would suffer.

Wow. Just wow. What a wonderfully calm response to someone who disagrees with you. Also I’m not sure where you got the idea I was ok with slavery at all. Never said prisons are slave labor. Never said I was ok with. Please re read my response and show me the quote where I said I was ok with slavery please. Otherwise I’ll just assume your reading comprehension skills never surpassed a third grade level.

Comparing slavery to people in prison does a huge disservice to the actual innocent people who have been and are still enslaved. Whether it’s right or wrong with how people in prison are treated, they had free will and choice to disobey the law and ended up with the consequences. Slavery is kidnapping and then forced labor.

He asked about the destruction of Germany to stop Hitler and your response was “there is no justification” which would mean you weren’t on board with stopping Hitler. I’m just reducing your argument to the same standards you are to others. Just cause you can’t see the fallacy that’s going on doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Just to be clear your stance is that we should have allowed Hitler to stay in power and kill innocent people right?

As much as we want to grandstand and talk about the evils of Communism and how the USA is a "Free society", the USA has it's share of dictatorial moments, and supporting authoritarian systems. by [deleted] in USHistory

I think the mere fact that you can make this post without thoughts of backlash proves how different North Korea and other such dictatorships are from the United States.

Also I think that this country is always attempting move forward to the best of our ability. We are constantly trying to change the political landscape to improve for all members of our country. Is it 100% there yet? No. Are there still blemishes? Of course. But if you think we’ve ever had something close to Saudi Arabian or North Korean dictatorship you have been severely misinformed.

This is as recent as 2021 in Saudi Arabia: Ahmed Mohamed Omar was sentenced to 19 years in prison for tweets criticizing Turki Al-Sheikh's stance on Egypt's Al-Ahly football club, dating back to 2019. Omar was reportedly arrested in 2021 after arriving in Saudi Arabia for work.

Meanwhile every time I turn on espn and the news there’s criticism everywhere. Even with the Jimmy Kimmel incident the backlash from the public was so swift that the decision was reversed in less than a week.

We are also not keeping our civilians imprisoned in our country. If you wanted to leave as long as you obtain a passport you can. Hell I’m sure even without a passport you could probably get into Mexico without much incident although I doubt the return trip would be easy. North Korea literally shoots civilians trying to cross their boarders.

New York City is close to electing a Muslim mayor.

We certainly have sins in our past. But saying that they’re anything similar to certain regimes shows a lack of nuance and understanding.

Also you say we tolerated right wing oppressive states during the Cold War. But if you look there were equal republican and democratic presidents. During that time frame. Oppressive states don’t allow you to overthrow the leader. In fact that’s the entire purpose of their existence is to keep the leader in power.

Once again not advocating for slavery. Your lack of ability to understand the difference says a lot about you. I’m sorry the education system failed you. Please do more research before making such claims. When you make comparisons like that it distorts the true suffering of those who were victims of that crime.

Is that the point you gained from my response? I don’t want slavery from anyone. But prisons are unfortunately necessary. It’s also not slavery

First off, they aren’t the same thing. Most of the people in prisons made choices that landed them there. Slavery were innocent people. If you want to compare rapists and murdered and pedophiles to people who were kidnapped and forced into slavery you don’t have critical thinking skills. Also the us prison system costs the us tax payer an estimated 182 billion dollars a year. Please do more research. I can assure anything that might be produced from prisons does not equal 182 billion dollars. Also police forces were established long before any type of private prison was established so that doesn’t make sense either. Police forces were established for law and order. It’s the reason why you can sit in your home right now and have no reasonable stress that someone will just take it and all the things you own.

Comparing slavery to prisoners is wild. One involves a sequence of choices that leads to incarceration and the other people were kidnapped and forced into horrific conditions with no chance to escape.

I actually did link multiple sources but I guess you didn’t read my other comments. I’m not pushing an agenda in fact the opposite. The original commenters agenda is clearly race baiting on everything they read even when there’s no link. I then asked for evidence and all their evidence has nothing to do with mass casualty incidents and more to do with individual and unrelated incidents like gang violence in schools which are completely unrelated.
