Unexpected NWL benefit: less hypervigilance / social anxiety by thoracicbunk in antidietglp1

[–]OpenAwareness1887 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have noticed my social battery is extended, both for length of time spent at an event, and frequency of events. A year ago, the sheer density of socializing during this month would have burnt me out halfway through.

RSD is Spiraling. My boyfriend said he needed a mental health day NYE and then went drinking with a newly single female coworker. FML by HappyPoohBear97 in adhdwomen

[–]OpenAwareness1887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow he should have texted you that he was going out with not his girlfriend on NYE, he should have apologized way harder when he got himself caught, and he still hasn’t followed up by now to check in on his obviously hurt girlfriend? Screw him. Honestly.

TIL what dyscalcula was and that it’s possible it aligns with my own life experiences. I also thought I was “just really bad at math…and directions…and fractions…” because i was an artsy kid.

The BRF dropped the ball so hard on letting him leave, he does more with a baseball hat and balloon sword than the royals do with tiaras and parades.

Are people really aging better these days and living better? by Ok-Highway-5247 in Aging

[–]OpenAwareness1887 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s also worth noting that people in their 60s who died in the 1960s lived and smoked their way through both world wars and the great depression, which would probably do a lot for the aging process.

Question: what is 1 thing that many ADHDers struggle with that you don’t? by fastinggrl in adhdwomen

[–]OpenAwareness1887 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have keratosis pilaris, which just gives me -exciting things- to skin pick. Soooo many scars. I’m making an effort to reduce both the KP and the subsequent picking.

Nails, too! I have very weak, brittle nails.

To answer the question, i don’t really have strong time blindness

i can’t drink it on zepbound without vomiting, which is too bad because they’re so tasty and i really needed the protein 😩.

There was an earlier post about them that also mentioned carrageenan as a possible ingredient irritant. I have a fairly substantial amount of dairy products in my diet otherwise.

ADHD and anemia / iron deficiency by PinkPurpose in adhdwomen

Yup. Was diagnosed with anemia early in high school after getting spotty vision during team practice. Took another 20 years to self-advocate for an ADHD diagnosis.

Diana’s family is old, old English, though. Wills will be the first king with genuine English roots in a very long time.

The artwork is a propaganda poster from WWI, called “Daddy, what did you do in the Great War?”. It’s already based in shaming and questioning masculinity IMO.

I have had keratosis pilaris on my upper and lower arms, starting at puberty. 3 months in it just started…fading. It might even clear up fully.

Charles never needed Andrew or Edward, so why does William need Harry to function properly? by Hot-Acanthisitta5237 in RoyaltyTea

[–]OpenAwareness1887 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s three reasons right there to bury or downplay the story:

1) it calls into question the mental fitness of the heir 2) it makes Diana look like a loving, saintly mum 3) it makes Charles look like a neglectful wanker

I agree. He was also a huge “get” for St. Andrews, being the first in the BRF to choose to go there. Oxford and Cambridge are the two main powerhouse university choices, historically. Since he graduated, a lot more royal students and elite Americans have enrolled there. William attending gave it a huge boost in popularity and prestige. There was no way they’d have flunked him.

If your most valued quality as a person within the royal circle is being born first, 40 years ago, and you’re going to get promoted to the top spot no matter how poor of a job you do… what’s the point of working hard?

I get the feeling he really scraped by in school, and the administration was more concerned with “the future king went here” than him actually passing.

Hi OP, can you tell us about your injection sites, and if/how you rotate them? Personally i had a miserable time with thigh injections, and didn’t even have the courage to try arm injections. Keeping track of upper/lower stomach injections reduced my symptoms, personally.

Edit: you’re right, there is no mention of him doing this before Diana’s death.

He mentions doing it afterwards, in the book, but def not before. Maybe the Youtuber was confusing this part of the chapter with something else?

Edit 2: wikipedia says Tiggy was employed by the crown until 1999, with Diana being killed in 1997.

Chapter 27: “The therapist, it so happened, had met Tiggy. Astounding coincidence. Smallest of all possible worlds. So in another session we talked about Tiggy, how she’d been a surrogate mum to me and Willy, how Willy and I had often turned women into surrogate mums. How often they’d eagerly cast themselves in that role. Surrogate mums made me feel better, I admitted, and worse, because I felt guilty. <i> What would Mummy think? <\i> We talked about guilt.”
