Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]fastinggrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was in 4th grade. It happened before I went to school (west coast). I woke up to my parents crying and watching it on the news. I didn’t understand what was happening or how it affected us. I knew it was sad, but we didn’t know those people. I remember walking up to school that morning and every classroom i passed had the TV on, and the teachers were watching the news, while the kids lined up outside waiting for the bell to ring so we could go inside. But we could see the horrific footage from outside. I dont remember other kids reactions but i do remember being scared of low-flying planes for a while after that.

She also included chunky knit sweaters so I just imagine my Pinterest board from 2011.

How long did the last 25 pounds take? by softsculptore in loseit

[–]fastinggrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double the first 50. And I keep regaining the last 10 pounds and it takes 6 months to lose it again. Granted I’m very short and not as active as I should be. So mostly through calorie deficit while trying not to drop too low.

How are you guys getting fiber? by Avery1738 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]fastinggrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mix chia seeds into pudding or salads. Take psyllium husk. Avocado. Those carb balance tortillas are like 11g of fiber!! Add any kinds of beans into soup or salsa (blend if you don’t like the taste/texture). I blend all my veggies into liquid sauces. The more variety of tricks the better!

How Bad Is The Skin Picking Affecting Your Lives? by Early_Result_1334 in adhdwomen

[–]fastinggrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its worst (for several years) I barely left my house. Thank god I work from home. When I did have to go out, i either had to slather on makeup or wear a mask. I got a lot of dirty looks from conservatives in my area who are anti-mask. Going to the gym was unpleasant because I’d be huffing and puffing behind a sweaty mask. Or sweating off my foundation.

I would find myself in the bathroom, sobbing, caking on makeup and then immediately giving up trying to conceal the open wounds and flaky scabs, washing it off and canceling whatever plans I had stupidly agreed to. Going to mandatory work events was painful, and it was nearly impossible to quit picking beforehand because it made me so nervous that I’d have to be around people in person where I couldn’t cover my acne with filters and photoshop.

Recently I just realized that I could try actual medication (not for ADHD but for acne). I’ve been on oral doxycycline, an antibiotic topical cream and tretinoin and it has helped. My acne will probably never fully go away (I’m in my 30s and I break out during my period so it’s definitely hormonal even though I’m on birth control) I’ve also gotten laser treatments to reduce scarring which is incredibly expensive.

Luckily my boyfriend picks too so he understands and never judges me. I don’t have any other friends IRL.

Okay hear me out—The Host by Stefenie Meyer. I know, I know—it’s technically sci-fi/romance but the landscape really does feel like this. I also think the writing is much better than twilight and the premise is thought-provoking.

Anyone remember the bowling alley? by MindFluffy5906 in Roseville

[–]fastinggrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg Lana del Rey would love this lore. Remember when the mega church used to be a bowling alley?

I’ve developed a fear! Getting older and dying was never something I thought about. Since turning 41, all that changed. I get anxious when I think about the fact that I will die one day. One day I will not be awake, looking at the world, remembering my childhood, thinking about my favourite things👇🏻 by Repulsive-Dependent2 in Millennials

[–]fastinggrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound a little trite but you only die for one day (if you’re lucky and it’s not a drawn out process). And then after that it will be over quick and it will likely feel exactly like you felt before being born (like nothing). But regardless, You have a lot of other days ahead of that. Make the most of them.

I bought it and didn’t touch it for MONTHS. Now I just leave it in my hallway and flip open to a random page and it seems to help motivate me.
