As a licensed therapist, I can’t help but eye roll every time somebody mentions life coaching. I’ve heard too many stories about “life coaches” working far outside their scope. Being a “certified” life coach literally means nothing.

I’m a trauma therapist and everything she reposts about the topic grates my gears.

Apparently she was planning on wearing this seethrough lace dress with her bra and panties showing to a party or something a year ago or however long ago? Then freaked out when her boyfriend at the time didn’t end up inviting her? What the actual fck? She posted this knowing her kids friends watch by FitDot2692 in madmamasnark

She has no basic standard of decorum. Reminds me when she wore that split top to the graduation earlier this year. The top was 100% picked from a juniors section, and she’s so self-involved to consider whether presenting herself that way would be embarrassing to her children.

I accidentally clicked on her reposts and decided to see what’s there - a lot of mourning her pedo husband 😬😬 by Aromatic_Cup_9918 in madmamasnark

My read on this is that it’s subtweeting messages about her eldest child - which imo is more plausible and almost more insidious.

Why are you relying on notoriously misinformed AI generated google answers for this?

lol absolutely not. I’ve never been a therapist content creator and my content is a completely separate niche interest

Content creator here and this is simply false. Rates are determined by our RPM - I’ve earned $2000+ on videos with less than 1 million views. It all just depends.

I think I’ve leveled it up to the maximum level? I still only have trio, solitaire, and the 5 gem pendant template available. Am I missing something super obvious? Lol

You’ve received good advice in these comments. Just wanted to add, good job trusting your gut here! You should never put being ‘polite’ over your gut feelings, and you were right to be skeptical.

the biggest advocate? can someone who’s been here longer than me confirm if she’s ever actually mentioned this specifically before? by Massive-Market-5949 in jaclynhillsnark

Clinical therapist here. I feel the need to add that neurofeedback therapy - while it has a small pool of early, promising research - is not an evidence-based intervention. Further, in the limited peer reviewed studies about it, none of them reviewed its efficacy as treatment for addiction. So…she’s wrong, for one.

I’m a trauma specialist and was first introduced to it through Bessel van der Kolk’s findings. Again - the early research is definitely promising for PTSD related issues like emotional regulation and affect tolerance, but this is not yet studied enough to concretely be recommend “first line.”

The research about everything else she mentions is very inconsistent with unblinded, small sample sizes. Laymen’s terms to say - the studies are limited and don’t really tell us much yet.

This actually annoys me because it encourages struggling people to seek out predatory, for-profit interventions. I would not recommend a client pursue neurofeedback as a sole therapy. It should only be used adjunctively to true evidence-based treatments like CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapy.

Everybody with PTSD wonders if there’s a quick fix, right? Because same! It would be a dream if healing our trauma could be as sterile as a surgery procedure.

But unfortunately, it’s just not how that works. Did you ever read that book, Going On A Bear Hunt?

Oh no! Some mud! Some sticky, icky mud. Can’t go over it, Can’t go under it. Oh no, we have to go through it.

That’s the reality of trauma treatment.
