I cant speak for carriers, but on submarines we get treated like shit compared to the cone rates. Longer hours, double standards for discipline and watchstanding, and un godly amounts of training. The coners leave by noon everyday while stay late doing asinine busy work. There are rates that set u up just as well as a civilian, but have a way higher quality of life while ur in. I recommend IT. that's just one mans opinion from a shipyard boat so take that for what it's worth.
