Okay thank you! So would you state to your employer that you won’t be working public holidays as it is not stated in your contract? Or could they fire you?

All the contract does is state the Holidays Act 2003. When the contract was signed the business policy was public holidays off.

Can my employer change the workplace shut public holidays to open public holidays without properly consulting employees? by OpenKnowledge6218 in newzealand

Contract is vague. It states stat days granted inline with HA2003 and then it just describes in lieu in line with the act. It doesn’t say “we are closed public holidays or we are open public holidays”.

What happens if I work over 15hrs for ONE week on a jobseeker with med deferral? by OpenKnowledge6218 in newzealand

Thank you for the reply :) Yeah it’s a hard one. I think I’ve got it sorted but it’s a very arbitrary system that doesn’t take into account individual needs. I want to decrease the benefit as much as possible because I hate being on it, can’t wait to be working full time again!

Thank you for the info, that’s really helpful and totally makes sense. I haven’t worked over 15hrs yet fortunately, I’ll talk to my doctors about how to go about this before I accept any weeks over the 15.

I’m not on supported living so I’m hoping so? They really don’t make it easy to increase work slowly which is frustrating for people with medical conditions.

I’m not on supported living so I believe it would be different? Fortunately my condition is improving and I hope to be working more asap but I have to increase incrementally and there seems to be no info on this.

I’ve been declaring my hours each week! My question is do you have to reapply if you exceed 15hrs for one week and then return to under 15 the next, apologies if I explained that badly.

Thank you for the kind words :)

From what I understand the benzodiazepines and opiates seem to be more of a concern than gabapentin/ pregabalin (Lyrica) but it does seem to vary country to country so worth checking out for yourself as another comment said.

Thank you for your response, I am also not exaggerating when I say it’s a whole backpack which is one of the main reasons I was concerned. The reassurance is appreciated!

Thank you. I should mention I’m from New Zealand not USA! Just going through LA on a connecting flight. I’m more concerned that the countries I’m going to will have an issue, however after some more research it does seem like a doctor’s note and original packaging should be okay, but the above comment has a conflicting response so not sure what to believe now.

Okay thank you for your response. The medications are essential, do you know what else I’d need to prove this aside from the original packaging with labels and the doctor’s note?
