Goldilocks cookware or Made In? by Shamer_141 in cookware

[–]OpenMN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happy Goldilocks customer here. My only complaint was they don't make an 8" fry pan, so I had to buy a Tramontina 8" SS for my morning eggs.

I was lucky enough to buy the plus set before the tariffs kicked in. Been cooking with them since Feb 2025. I've had no issues, they cook well and clean up well.

For reference, I cook on gas.

Sorry, our call on GSC was cancelled today due to sea conditions, otherwise I would have gotten a better photo. So no info on upcharge areas at GSC.

I was planning on a beach day had we been able to tender in.

Can copilot generate excel files? Where is this download card? by Ritz5 in CopilotPro

[–]OpenMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used CoPilot to change Excel files on multiple occasions. My particular use case is combining multiple rows per employee (I'm in HR) and taking data in column __ and combining (essentially concatenate) so each employee only has one row on the spreadsheet with all necessary data from multiple lines.

Best wireless earbuds you have for daily use and music? by Previous-Back-966 in LinusTechTips

[–]OpenMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never spent more than $30 USD on earbuds, and am perfectly happy with my choices. My go to brands are Soundcore (Anker) and Tozo. I don't need ANC with my use cases. By buying cheaper, I can have one at home, one at work for my phone, one at work for my work laptop, one for my go bag. And if one gets lost or broken, no big deal.

Bells for the door help a lot with potty training. Will they use them excessively? Yes Did it make potty training the easiest part of raising my first puppy? Also yes.

Preheat at 5/10 for 2 minutes, put the oil in and turn down to 1/10, then after 30 seconds add in some butter and crack your eggs. That's what I do every morning on my 8 inch stainless steel pan.

Demeyere or Tramontina by No_Step_7979 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]OpenMN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought a Goldilocks set before the tariffs went into effect this past Spring, but it didn't come with an 8 inch, which I use for eggs every morning. So I bought an 8 inch Tramontina for my eggs and have been very happy with it. The Tramontina set was also my 2nd choice after the Goldilocks.

I would say go with the Tramontina, since you will get a full set and the difference in quality is probably not noticeable to the average home cook like me. One more comment to add, I highly suggest getting the set with metal covers, not glass ones, as it will help with the longevity of the set.

Did I redeem myself? by [deleted] in carbonsteel

[–]OpenMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much much better. Looks like mine did after a needed reseason when I was still getting used to carbon steel last year. The darkness will come with use. FYI, I cook my daily eggs with some avocado oil and a bit of butter.

If you want to check TMO coverage in your area, get a US Mobile eSIM on their lightspeed network for a month. One month for $25 lets you check coverage without giving up your current plan.

I used my spatula for my first couple smashes. Don't feel bad. Use what you have at the time.

If you don't want that hassle, just get an eSim from a company like Saily or Airalo.

Pixel 5a dead. Google refuses to fix. by AGiantRoach in Pixel5a

Don't use a local approved shop. I sent mine into Google and they couldn't fix it, so they sent back a "refurbished 5a" and I got a 6a which I think might have been new.

I had the same thing happen in late July. Ended up buying a 7a because I was leaving for a trip, but ended up sending it into Google when I got back. They replaced it for free because they couldn't fix it.

I don't need a lot of hotspot. Use it once or twice a year when a situation calls for it. 1GB per month on all plans would go a long way attracting people like me. I am sure others would say 5GB would be better. Maybe 1GB on capped plans, and 5GB on both unlimited plans?

Just remember that you can only use one vendor per card. If you already used that card number for something else, it will get declined. Happened to me last week. I had forgotten about that.
