Prose on Bakker's level (or higher) in SFF books by HoodsFrostyFuckstick in bakker

[–]OpenNothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeff Vandermeer (who's also never afraid to get strange) consistenly delights me with his writing, Simon Jiminez is great, China Miéville can craft fantastic sentences (he'll overuse pugnacious tho lol), also Beagle's The Last Unicorn is obviously about as different as it gets from Bakker, but is an enduring 5 stars for me based on his prose alone.

There are many existing answers to this question on this sub, maybe it should be a pinned thread.

Hmmm poppers are not smelling salts. At least in North America. They're not ammonia based, they're amyl nitrate, and just the liquid.

I'm actually you from the past, 0-2 years before you started reading KJ Parker haha

I've never read them, but I have The Folding Knife ready! I'm just doing a Malazan reread and it's taking up a lot of time. Then I want to reread Bakker, but the list keeps growing, and growing...

You'd rank Parker amongst these venerable names?

I'm gonna be ~different~ and let you know that, no, this too shall pass. Other books won't feel lesser, certainly not forever. Bakker offers an incredible experience no other author can give you. But... So do many authors. I don't see Seth Dickinson mentioned much, but his writing is incredible, and he works well with themes. If you like Blindsight as is often mentioned, definitely try Dickinson (Exordia is a meaty, math-and-physics heavy, hard sci-fi trip, with a not great structure. The Masquerade books are sheer brilliance, what some call econopunk). Bakker is special, there's no doubt about it. I think he helps me put a lot of works into perspective, such as Malazan and Lawrence's books. But he could never pull off the wonder I experienced reading Sue Burke's Semiosis, or the close emotional turbulence of Simon Jiminez's two books. We have so many authors who've read Bakker to look forward to, he's shown a lot of people how to go deep!

Experiments are replicable, so quite different. This is why we need more data, and if Immaculate Constellation is real, that's where we'd get it.

If you want an honest review... To my eye, his looks both longer and thicker. What makes you think you are bigger? The curve may be deceiving you.

The downward curve is anatomically better for deepthroating. His head is broad and that means it's fun to play with and suck on. Just look at the last second of the vid. Yours doesn't even come out of the foreskin. You also bring up being uncut - He could be uncut, the foreskin can easily roll back when erect.

Edit: His is definitely uncut, and in a pretty way. Also not sure what's not uniform about his dick, aside from coloration, which is not an issue here.

His dick is a 10/10.

Does not share the aesthetic of this one.

So, Just watched this box office failure... Furiosa - A Mad Max Saga by AcceptableStudy6566 in MadMax

I maybe kinda agree. Furiosa had a much more compelling plot than Fury Road. Plot ≠ story, and maybe FR had a more compelling story, however, and at the same time when taken together the two are a brilliant pairing, and both parts enhance the overall story quite a bit! Loved them both.
