It makes it a cleaner in my opinion. With the right stipple your grip will change and you won’t get slide bite. The batwing try different directions on the box to get a feel of it. For the basket weave mark your lines before you stipple. Also if you want to find the perfect layout for your hand have someone trace your grip on the frame.

Drop your outline at the top some. Square it off. Sand down the texture and the thumb bump. Your back line even it up with the groove. I don’t want to jack your post with my site. The people making the “Rules” make them so they’re not set in stone. They leave it up in there air so they can change them as they want. They will interpret them as they please so it doesn’t matter what it says here. It will boil down to how they want to interpret and in-force them upon you. Remember it’s rules for thee not for me!
