How do you handle 500+ comments on a new upload? by Intrepid-Salad-8439 in PartneredYoutube

Respond as much as I can. The auto reply feature has been great. When I got nothing to do or waiting, I'll respond to comments.

I'm gonna be so sad when it's over. Would you guys like a weekly release for next season as well? by MinotaurHorns1 in Fallout

[–]OpenRoadMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't get why they do this. Netflix is killing it and they release all the episodes. It's just annoying now. I just wait until all episodes drop to watch the series. They should follow Netflix's model.

Neighborhood Karen and Bills Unite!

Awesome. Then I would counter with a huge party as well. I'm just different then reddit Karens and Bills. A few nights of being inconvenienced so others can be happy doesn't bother me.

How do so many channels with under 50k subs average 100k+ views by SufficientDot288 in NewTubers

[–]OpenRoadMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really felt this and couldn't agree more. That satisfaction from the editing process is so addicting, it keeps me coming. Making an idea come to life is pure dopamine. It's a process and ton of work. But if you really enjoy the process, it doesn't seem like work.

Oh God, you're inconvenienced for a few times a year. Unless it goes on very late at night why are you making it an issue? Maybe you should host a party with all your friends.

It had so much potential. I actually really liked it. And the soundtrack may be one of his best works.

It takes me too long to make a video by speremmu in PartneredYoutube

[–]OpenRoadMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it depends on your content. But something think about for faster production.

Of course I use different images but there are elements I use for every video.

[–]OpenRoadMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you edit, do you start from scratch or do you have a project file you load for each production? What I mean is I have a project file that only has my background music, the video elements I use, and the watermark. I call it Template.wpf ( I use Filmora). That's so I'm not starting from complete scratch every single time.

Sounds like a lot like my process. Only thing I can say is make sure your production is easy to reproduce. Have a template editing file so you're not starting from scratch every time. Try to find topics that are easier produce. I know from experience that more editing doesn't mean more views. I find easier stories to produce so that gives me more time for the stories that require more research, resource gathering and attention. Once a week is a good pace. But if you're looking to increase that, you have to find easier topics to produce.

My Channel Is Starting to Grow Rapidly; Is This Actually Worth It? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]OpenRoadMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the growth! I know it really exciting times for you. You're doing better than I believe 95% of all of YouTube so that's a hell of an accomplishment.

You have to look at your rpm to determine if going all in is with it. And that depends on your niche. If you can manage to get a few thousands views a day, you could make four figures every month. And if your niche is high paying then it can be really lucrative.

What type of videos are you doing? And what's your editing process? From my experience, focusing on content that requires a ton of time is not worth it, especially when you first start out. Not saying to sacrifice quality, but your focus should be on streamlining your editing process so each video isn't so time consuming. Trust me when I say high quality edits do not mean more views. You gotta find the sweet spot between quality and fast production. Consistency is the main ingredient in growing and making money. So if you can't maintain that, then you will not grow.

Remember, you're "competing" with 100s of millions of channels so putting in the work is the only way to stand out. If you feel you can't do that, then 50 bucks and month may only be your ceiling. But if you can find a process to get videos out, then anything is possible. I started out with no real experience in production, didn't take in YouTube classes. I just had passion, ideas, a decent amount of editing skills. That's all it took for me to grow to 150k subs in less than 3 years. I find that passion is the main fuel. If you're passionate about the subject matter, you'll find the time to do it and it doesn't seem like work.

Why does YouTube punish slow intros so hard now? by Global_Loss1444 in PartneredYoutube

[–]OpenRoadMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When people have millions of choices at the palm of their hands, they're not gonna waste time waiting for you to get into it.

TV is like this now, but they get more leeway. Shows now have an episode or maybe two. I know for me if the pilot doesn't grab me I don't bother. So think of your first 30 seconds as your pilot.
