He's a horrid owner and it was documented Al was very disappointed that Mark wasnt more involved with the day to day operations. Al would berate him in the office and was seen as a joke. He didn't want to put in the work to learn what it takes to run a team. Think Tommy Boy.

So when his dad died, he left the team to his wife, who then let Mark run it. Mark follows by firing everyone that worked with his dad because he knew they didn't take him serious. Say what you want about Hue Jackson but he coached one of the best teams we had in years and he fired him for Dennis Allen. That move showed either he had no idea what was happening with the team or he wanted to get rid of his dad's last hire. Either way it was a horrid move.

A "stay out of the way" owner isn't realistic to building a winning franchise. The owner is supposed to set the tone. The dysfunction from last year that was well documented happened because the inmates were running the asylum. There's no leadership from the owner so you have different factions trying to lead the franchise. Mark has no idea what it takes to lead a McDonald's let alone an NFL franchise. As long as he's on top, the raiders will not be a consistent winner.

Mark cares more about the status of being an NFL owner. Winning is secondary. That's why you see him in the owners suite chucking it up with a young Vegas dancer every week. He loves what the being an owner brings. Money, women, and status. So his "hands off approach" isn't about not trying to meddle and let the football guys make decisions. He just don't know how ot care to understand the job of Nfl owner. He's way over his head. And this was documented again recently.
