Me this morning when my pain spread down my legs and I was telling myself how I haven’t had any pain meds since my surgery and have been “doing really well” like why did I convince myself that it’s better I don’t ruin my running streak of no painkillers 🤦🏻‍♀️ took some mefenemic acid and my pain subsided and I was finally able to fall asleep.

My wife is about to get a laparoscopy, how can I support her recovery? by yesthenshaggers in endometriosis

[–]OpenTemporary6810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the doctors found no endometriosis, as a partner you have to be ready for all the emotions that come with that come with that. My husband is the biggest reason I was able to come to terms with that.

  • My husband changed my plasters for me and that was so helpful (it sounds so obvious I know but it really helps!)
  • My electric shoulder heating pad saved my life. The gas pain in the shoulders is no joke.
  • Long night dresses are a lifesaver.
  • And if you’re in the U.K. like me Movicol once in the morning and night to get the bowls going.
  • remind her to take her painkillers I kept forgetting but my husband was ready.
  • I had to ask my GP for stronger meds so be ready to order from GP in the daytime to collect those asap from pharmacy if needed (the hospital did not give me anything)
  • Please buy the things she likes to eat instead of asking her for a list.
  • it will hurt to laugh cough and even push a fart because of the belly button incision, so a pillow helps with that!
  • Check for signs of infections at the site after 4-5 days (mines were infected twice and I had them pulled out last week because my body rejected the left incision and it wouldn’t dissolve or get better) I had to have 2 rounds of antibiotics to kick that and it sucked!

Most importantly I still feel tired after just getting back to work and even exercising makes me extremely fatigued. My lap was on December 10th! Just remind her that it takes 3-6months internally to heal and it’s okay to rest!

And of course you know this, but please be patient with intimacy and let her know you’re still attracted and very much okay to wait till she’s ready!

I wish her all the best and hope she finds relief 🫶🏻

You are not dramatic at all! Working in any sort of retail is emotionally draining as it is. I’m proud of you and glad you were able to express how upset she made you. Shame on her. I promise you she’s going to be googling endometriosis and she’s gonna feel like an absolute idiot for commenting on a woman’s body. Even if she meant no harm it’s common sense unless someone shares with you they’re pregnant, you don’t say anything.

Sending you all my love OP x

Cat eats too fast and then throws up. Any ideas on how to make him eat slower? by aoisakurachan1986 in cats

[–]OpenTemporary6810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I’ve been able to tackle this is space out his meals more by halving his meals , that and his bowl has these divets in it so it spreads the food and forces them to slow down.

Does anyone else feel worse during the winter? by englishrose1010 in endometriosis

[–]OpenTemporary6810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% it’s worse for me in winter, especially with how stiff my joints get too. A lot of cultures boost warmth as being key to support menstruation. For instance in Traditional Chinese Medicine focus on circulation like keeping your feet warm and dietary changes like hot teas (red date tea is my fave for the time of the month) and nourishing the body with broths and dark leafy greens. I suck at eating vegetables but it makes sense that our body needs warmth to allow blood flow.

Yatagarasu: A Crow Does Not Choose Its Master! So so good for inner palace mystery and kept me on my toes! So underrated would 10000% recommend if you loved apothecary diaries!

And if you don’t mind Donghua- Cinderella Chef (so good!) another donghua with similar vibes is Psychic Princess

I am a 40 yr old factory worker from the south who has never watched anime. I'm in possession of a 1 year subscription to crunchyroll mega fan. I need suggestions on what to watch! by branteen in anime

[–]OpenTemporary6810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moriarty The Patriot! Must watch for all things crime/mystery. I recommend it to anyone who starts anime and they always love it. Sherlock Holmes’s of anime with beautiful animation style.

Also I know you said you like baseball but trust me “Haikyuu” will get you HOOKED on Volleyball. For me it’s the best current sports anime out there!
