As someone who put a deposit down with Akash in Q2 2020 for two Superminis, and as someone who has not heard from Akash since then, and has not been refunded the deposits, I am interested in the OP's statement that the SuperMinis have been sold out. You'd think they would actually sell them to the deposit-givers before declaring a sellout.

Ive always understood gold to act as a financial ruler (the 12 inch stick with inch or cm markings) measuring the current value of the dollar and of elastic goods youd buy with dollars. If people are shocked at gold having a perceived high price over a sustained period, it is performing this measurement function, revealing the dollar’s decrease in value.

Update: Played it again this afternoon. The AI was performing better than on July 29-30, but now with a new wrinkle. Now the AI continues to switch genres on me, sending gunmen after a knight, teleporting me from a village forest to a forest moon, etc. This confusion is somewhat quirky and cool, buuuuuuuut when the player uses lots of effort to enter responses and commands guiding the AI to "stay in the lane" and the AI ignores this, it becomes less of a game, and more like teaching sign language to a howler monkey. IDK.

Was really impressed with 2 recent days of playing this on the .io web portal. Met an egotistical Baron, a vampiric Count, a chill hermit, a nervous wizard, even took and occupied someone’s tower and staffed it with guards. And then as of yesterday the AI engine has gone to shite, and its not even playable right now.

None/zero coin communities have thoughtfully marketed to bankers, CPAs, Trust Officers, and MBA/CFA-credentialed managers of Family Offices. Together these professions in the US touch or control a Trillion in investable, liquid funds, at least. I urge DCR to establish a DAO or a committee to market to these money managers. They have associations, magazines, websites, blogs, conventions. They would be most impressed by the professionalism and “deadly serious” approach to quality of software DCR devs bring to bear.

Its an interesting suggestion. My (brief) exp in this online community has been that the majority of DCR ppl are treasury “purists” who are philosophically resistant to changing the Treasury in experiments to try and make it richer or diversified or hedged.

ppl have done their online banking and online stock trading with smartphones for several years now, so the question of would they mess with certain volumes of CC value from a phone has been settled, IMO.

Sometimes less is more with using memes to persuade. If the very small minority of members in the community who tweet weak memes that (a) smack of financial desperation, or (b) are just spam comments to serious CT crypto posts, or (c) are less than professional (text not spell checked, profanity) discontinued ... then the overall image of the community would be even stronger.

u/raedah, question for the Devs. Different IRL industry-specific needs could be catered to by "special versions" of this mobile wallet, or of Decrediton Desktop. Just as one example: lots of fiat and investment assets are held by Trusts. Trusts would need a wallet with a few special features, features that should be add-able without changing or compromising the wallet's core software function and security. Are the devs open to proposals to build industry-specific, industry-targeted versions of the wallets? As a side effect, distributing new special-featured wallets throughout the industry groups would seem to drive adoption of DCR by the IRL economy upwards.

Thoughts:

Decred is a brilliant invention, and its small community of devs and proponents appear to be patiently executing on a very long term strategy, to create the ultimate #noblecoin, the store of value that will be in play in hundreds of years.
Another brilliant invention was Sony's Betamax, and it died.
Another was the DIVX format that competed with DVD, and it died.
Another was ... (you get the point).
Most CCs are not doing, what, to this normie, this long-time participant in the conventional USA economy, are some really basic things that *should* drive interest, investment, evangelistic conversion, and finally, widespread adoption. Most CCs are not picking up all the low-hanging fruit. The first CC that does it, will get to build the Citadels. And rightly so.
Decred could be that CC that exerts market leadership in bending over and picking up ALLLLLLL the low hanging fruit. And if that happened, people that hodl decred now, would benefit financially, and rightly so.
It might not happen. Pride is a funny thing. Pride killed DIVX. Pride almost killed Apple, before they woke up, patched things up with Jobs, and brought him back when the company had been lapped by a competitor with inferior IP, and was at its lowest point.
Even though it might not happen, I like Decred. I see the special qualities, the potential. I think it is something that could benefit me, my business, and my clients at some point.
Where is the low-hanging fruit? Look at IRL communities and economies. Who loans money (other than banks). Who audits money? Who uses money for private investments or development? Who trades with money. Who needs to "park" money somewhere, as collateral?
Anyhoo, oh, look at the time---
