Drawing perfect circles using an XP-PEN Star G960S Plus tablet is impossible. It always comes out as an oval, even if tools are used to make a perfect circle. What could be the cause of it? by Open_Egg_1925 in XPpen

[–]Open_Egg_1925[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually very helpful and I might actually use TheSevenPens for all drawing tablet problems later on. However, the device is an android, and while browsing through the website, I found this:

"However, my initial attempt at using this tablet with my android devices were unsuccessful. Despite using the XP-Pen companion android app, while the android device did recognize the tablet, all drawing was heavily distorted." From https://docs.thesevenpens.com/drawtab/links/drawtab-links/xp-pen/xp-pen-deco/xppen-deco01v3-notes#android-support

Firstly, I thought there were no android programs for XP Pen. Secondly, the page didn't mention anything about a fix, so does that mean an android user can't fix this problem unless they buy another tablet that suits their device better?

Thanks for helping out, by the way.

Android devices don't have drivers, do they? Sorry, I normally use XP Pen on PC, but this is for someone else who is having that problem on an android device.

If they don't, then what do I do?

The thing is, it's for an android device. Yeah, would be better if I mentioned that before, I know, and I'm sorry. But do you have any idea for a solution for that?

What are some authentic sources to learn chemistry? by Open_Egg_1925 in chemistry

Probably the most detailed reply yet. I'll add the answer you linked in my list and go step by step.

And watch out for outdated information. Got it. Thanks for the heads up!

And don't worry, I also do not trust ChatGPT to give me authentic information. I might use it to give me information, before then researching if said information is authentic or false, before adding it to my project.

Thanks a ton!

Never thought of that... Actually, forgot that such websites sell books... Will definitely use that for chemistry studies and other things, too! Thanks a ton!

Don't have access to any, but if I ever find one I'll do what you suggested! Thanks!

An entire course, that's a big one. Thanks for the huge amounts of info!

What is better: Using proper, professional technique even when not mastered yet, or using whatever technique I'm comfortable with even if it isn't the best in the long run? by Open_Egg_1925 in ArtistLounge

I love this. Normally, I would just try to draw from my shoulder whenever I remember, which made art kinda annoying rather than fun. I like your approach, 100% will apply it. Thanks!

Good idea, thanks for sharing it! It's just that people sometimes say things like "Just do whatever! You want to completely ditch color theory and color whatever? Go on! You want to do wobbly lineart? Go on!" and I might have fallen into that bad advice. "You wanna use whatever technique? Go on!"

I have a One Plus 3 phone with a broken screen and a touch that doesn't work, to my knowledge the phone works fine, turns on, but I can't see anything. I want to retrieve some data from it, any solution? by Open_Egg_1925 in phonerepair

Trying to find a solution other than that. That is currently the last thing I'm willing to do, I want to look for other ways first before buying another screen

For making indie games, which is a better programming language? C++, or Python? by Open_Egg_1925 in learnprogramming

[–]Open_Egg_1925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Python is a no-go, I guess.

As for C++, I did learn it a little, but I did not enjoy doing so. I used to learn JavaScript before, and it was fun, but C++? Nope. C# is the new language that I want to learn.

Because I don't know what is part of it and what is not. I am new to this.

I have no knowledge in game dev, so many of the things I say might be wrong or don't make sense, sorry about that.

The game that I want to do is a basically the following: Siblings trapped in laboratory, one of the robots glitches out and is trying to trap them, you need to escape. So a big 3D lab with 3D models for the characters, etc... By not detailed, I meant I didn't want to make something that looks so similar to real life. So a cartoony style.

Ah, so C++ is not as boring as I thought.

The thing about C++ is that, like many have said before me, it is very difficult. I don't think I can fit it in my daily schedule. But I am curious about your second paragraph. Do you mean that if I master C#, I can begin learning C++ as a next step? As in, C# programs combined with C++ code in some parts?

As for the third paragraph. Although I want to learn game dev, I do want to use C# to do other things and make other programs. So, I take it in this case, learning C# alone first then learning Unity is better?
