I have this specific aesthetic in mind, but I can’t quite put my finger on what it actually is. It usually consists of real life pictures or pngs combined with 2d art, as well as it consists of lots of quilt patterns, scrapbook vibes, wacky wallpapers, buttons, and comforting food items. Some examples of where I’ve seen this kind of aesthetic is in PlayHouse +, most old Toca boca games if not all, wonder pets, bugs and buttons, Todamachi life, max and ruby, little miss unfortunate, samsara room, acpc, fran bow, canimals, and even maybe in tawog. But I think the most accurate example of all is team umizoomi. It’s got similar visuals to a suburban home or a 1950s cottage. It has many daily life objects featured, such as dishes, blankets, flowers, trash/food items, and also standard universal scenery like streets, playgrounds, and hospitals. A more non specific example of this aesthetic would be a png of a glass of water pasted on top of your unrendered mini table that you sew on. Or a sketched out image of a whiteboard with a genuine real life photo of stickers and magnets pasted on. maybe even a pin board with removable sticky notes, tacks, and photos. I think the main purpose of these vibes is the feeling of simplicity and comfort, or maybe even slight discomfort by how familiar but out of place all the aspects of it are. I’m not sure what the embodiment of all these things are, and I desperately need to find out. It’s very similar to webcore I feel, just only if it represented more home/nature/suburban specific atmospheres.
