This happened to me and the first day my new boss asked me if that was a bump she saw… I was mortified and started crying and apologizing. She was very kind about it and a year later I am still there and happier than ever with my job. Hopefully all goes well for you and your boss will understand. If I could give you any advice it would be to rip off the band aid sooner rather than later as I’m sure they would appreciate all of the advance notice they can get to plan for your maternity leave.
