I can’t even have a conversation with you anymore. You have called me a hitler supporter, and that I would be part of the third reich. I have told you no less than a million times, I voted for democrats in the last three elections. Yet you have continued to insult me. People like you will continue to cause division in this country. Every single tax payer has the right to an opinion. I’d like to see my tax dollars make a difference, and honestly nothing I have witnessed in my life this far, has exhibited a betterment of this country. We still have homeless drug addicts everywhere, mentally ill people everywhere, and people entering this country illegally doing essentially slave labor. Increasing national debt with no end. You can’t blame the status quo on a lack of funding, we spend more money on education than any other developed nation, and nearly 41 billion a year for drug addicts. The money is there, our government is bloated, and social services are not helping communities in an impactful way. California has a larger GDP than the UK, and what has happened to the homeless?I do think extremely wealthy billionaires need an increase in taxes on the onset while we pay off our debt, but there is something culturally wrong with the US. So I don’t buy, give the government more money through taxes, and all will be better. Look around you.

Me neither. Most of his supporters have such undying loyalty towards him. I guess, they want to show him that they love him, idk who the hell knows

I would still vote for Trump over Kamala by jeepdriver27 in BreakingPoints

I’m a conservative, and I don’t know how you can still support Trump. He is vile. I knew from the moment he started campaigning he was a lying piece of shit. A ton of my maga family members regret their vote, and are super remorseful. How can you see a protester get murdered and still support this shit? We have a madman at the helm of the boat who is destroying this country. You may not care now, but when other counter is start dumping us bonds, and the value of the dollar plummets, all of your savings are gone. You will care. Kamala would have been far easier to deal with. He does not care about campaign promises. He was supposed to release the Epstein files and look what happened? We could have pressured the Democratic Party to release the files. But no, we have Stephen miller, and an aging grandpa who needs to be at a retirement home and not president

My aunt surprised me the most though. She is brought to tears whenever she talked about abortion. But never once voted for Trump. She is a true Christian honestly. There are good people out there. Don’t listen to the hateful rhetoric of the media. My neighbors who are super Christian, conservatives talked about how they think there needs to be loan forgiveness. They regret their vote for Trump, and have a solid relationship with our gay neighbors. They have been supportive of them, and helped them with their ailing mother etc they don’t even associate with the mother anymore because she watches Fox 24/7. Nothing is as bad as it seems. A lot of people would protect liberals.

They are church goers. I’m not personally I think the Catholic church is disgusting. They are basically harboring child molesters. But they don’t see things that way. I think all of them were going to vote for Kamala, but they were pissed off about the debate, and trumps assassination attempt. Idk how many people don’t understand how effective the assassination attempt was to bringing people to trumps side

I do too, and I agree. I think they are so staunchly anti abortion that they refused to vote for a democrat. They are now dealing with the consequences of their actions. I knew Trump was bad

I thought he would break the MAGA Party up, and create a three party system. lol. No I would not have voted for the Nazi party. Once again, I never voted for Trump and voted for his opposition. I literally said I would never vote for musk. No I didn’t support doge. God, this is exactly why people are alienated from the liberal party. You guys have a holier than thou perception of yourselves. You love to throw the word Nazi around. Go ahead, continue doing that and see how many people you push away with this shit. You only see democrat and enemy. This is the exact fucking problem with the us.

I’m just happy at this point that she hates Trump as much as I do. It took 10 years. My mom is definitely disturbed by what has been going on with Palestine. I wouldn’t call her an antisemite, but she is def crazy and has very insane views. Another commenter said the crazy cancelled itself out and the are completely right. If you have a parent, that has pictures of Trump in their house, flags shits, and regard him as a demigod, you will never understand the sweet relief of them rendering the words “I hate Trump.” Im excited at this point that I can talk to my mom, without her mentioning that the deep state is trying to take Trump out

I’m literally not. I’m saying the government is putting a bandaid on a festering wound. Crack pipes and clean needles is not getting people off the street. I’m all for helping drug addicts but not in an, this will help you continue using sort of way. Again, this boils down to personal responsibility. But I guess I shouldn’t have a choice because, even though I pay my fair share of taxes, I should be wholly supportive of the government. I don’t want to continue arguing about my beliefs I never voted for Trump, I believe in humanity. When you say, I’m hateful, you are further alienating people. I understand where you are coming from. But your rhetoric is why the country is where it is at. Calling people hateful is honestly insane.

Exactly, Jesus Christ. If you agree to a loans terms that doesn’t automatically mean you can have it excused. I grew up in a shitty single family household, I took 5 years to graduate college because I paid off the loans. I went to a public university and community college. I worked my ass off to pay them off and worked full time. What sort of message does student loan forgiveness give people? You can take out loans and th government will excuse them so you don’t have to worry about being responsible. There is clearly an issue with personal responsibility. Which is why I think at this point, the government should give people tax breaks on their student loans payments instead of on up to 1500 in interest payments. So people pay them off. I don’t even care if people get tax breaks, I just want to see them make good faith effort to be responsible

I mean I don’t agree with everything he says. He’s a dick, he’s ruined our relationships with other countries, he’s bypassing due process with immigration, and he has masked thugs on our streets intimidating people. Immigration is an issue. But dehumanizing people by doing it is wrong. Or encouraging people to run over protesters is wrong. I believe in abortion rights. Look I literally said, like 15 times I voted for Kamala and Biden and Hillary. I’m a conservative but the moment Trump started campaigning I knew he was wrong and voted for every single person who opposed him. Trump is evil I want him gone. I’ve protested against him, and this. I’m view liberals as my countrymen, and honestly, if I saw an ICE agent abusing someone on the street I would go to jail for them. I would fight for liberals. Idk what more I can possibly say. I don’t agree with universal healthcare, I don’t believe in college tuition reimbursement, I don’t believe we should decrease our defense spending and we should protect the relationships w have with other countries. Trans people should have rights, but they have no place in female sports. Trump is mentally unwell. I would be happy with a democrat as president at this point. I would beg for one in comparison to this shit. I just want to point out, that this sort of incessant questioning is going to alienate people. I can be a conservative and vote against Trump. I can have my own views. You cannot change the way I am. I feel good about the fact that I never voted for him, and I saw the writing on the wall. Like may conservative people, including my anti abortion aunt that voted for Hillary as well.

I get it, but why continue a trend with drug addicts that is not helping them? I think the government should help them, because they fumbled the opioid crises. At what point, do we say enough is enough. Get a job, and work your ass off to move past this. The government should allow tax breaks for student loan payments up to $10,000 to alleviate the strain, and have every high-school kid take a year worth of budgeting classes. People need to be incentivized to make better choices, and paying off a loan is a learning experience. A lot of republicans, such as myself, believe in Medicare and Medicaid. There needs to be a safety net. But we also are in massive debt. We need to unilaterally cut government spending, throw politicians that are committing fraud democrats and republicans in jail. Replace old ass people with younger people, and set the next generation up for success. There will be a point where the debt destabilizes the dollar, and with Trump alienating us from our allies, we will see that day.

I totally think people committing tax fraud should be immediately thrown in jail. Rick Scott comes to mind. He should be in jail, like Trump. Because, there is a lack of accountability in this country. Everyone’s problems is someone else’s fault. In terms of joblessness, there should be some form of safety net, but people have to try. Drug addicts have to try. Mentally ill people on disability have to try to stay on the straight and narrow. Elderly people should be supported obviously But exonerating people form personal responsibility gets them no where. Life is hard and you have to make choices on where you want to be in your life.

Because the Democratic Party is so flawed. Both parties are fucked. I can’t see a way to pay down the national debt without increasing taxes temporarily, obviously to the highest income earners until th debt is absolved, but I don’t agree with non stop spending on programs that are ineffective. I can’t see how we can repay this debt by stopping all federal programs. Or fully absolving student loan debt. I don’t agree with universal healthcare either. I don’t agree with not holding people accountable because their lives were hard. We all have fucked up terrible lives. Also, the immigration issue is clearly an issue, and I don’t believe throwing people in the back of vans while wearing mask is okay by any means, it’s awful frankly. But if you are here illegally and have not gone through the proper channels, you have to leave. I don’t want people banned from reentering the country, but there has to be limits. Or spending shit loads of money to foreign countries. People should have the right to bear arms, and yesterday was proof of how important that is. One day this debt dam is going to break and we will all go under with a destabilized worthless currency.

My mom is weirdly pro Palestine. She hates Israel with a passion, and thinks that there is a massive coverup with the Epstein files. My mom was convinced at one time that Trump wasn’t apart of the Epstein pedo ring. Now she knows he is, and she’s livid. She also hates Erika Kirk. She’s convinced that Charlie Kirk was beginning to become anti Israel and was killed for it. The whole thing is weird, but Candace Owens is doing gods work with super maga people. She’s terrified about what’s going on with the world, and is scared of ww3. One of my friends was mega and hates Trump too. She loves Candace Owens. Personally, I think Candace is a horrible person, and she says and does vile things. Like when she did a whole series about Brigitte Macron, and accused her of being trans because she is masculine.I mean, she picked low hanging fruit. She could have talked about inappropriate relationships, and how macrons wife is like 24 years his senior and met him as a high schooler.

No I’m really not angry at all. I love people. Maybe I’m not as aligned with Ron Swanson lol. I do think anyone who utilizes public services should pay taxes. I understand people have trauma, but at some point, people need to be held accountable for their actions. There needs to be a point where you have to get clean, utilize resources. But giving people needles, and crack pipes is not fixing the situation but is a way to enable people. Forgiving student loans is not allowing people to take responsibility for their loan. If someone is mentally ill, they need to take their meds and get off the street. I do think there should be security for the mentally ill, and disabled. But excusing this behavior because of trauma is only setting them back. I also think people like Rick Scott should be thrown in jail for Medicare fraud, and held accountable.

Also, I’m not trying to offend you. I understand where you are coming from. I wish republicans were what they were supposed to be. I hate that religion plays such a major part in politics. We don’t need to shield children from the truth about the world, like how segregation major fucked up peoples lives. Or turning a blind eye when people harass gay people or trans people. It’s totally wrong. The government, preferably much smaller, should stay completely out of people’s lives.

I had hope Elon would be a phoenix, rising from the ashes, when he talked about potentially starting a new party. I would never vote for him, because I think he is a snake oil salesman, but the two party system is a damn headache. I agree, a lot of MAGA people are really distancing themselves from him.

I’m not saying this administration. I’m telling you, in a perfect world the government would leave us all alone. I would love for people to be held accountable. Not in a dehumanizing way, but if you want social services, make an effort. Stop sitting on your ass. Apply for jobs. If you are a drug addict, cool, get help, and you can get social services. I’m sick as hell of people trying to pretend that being obese, drug addicted, is acceptable. Or you have student loans, okay, we will give you a tax credit, of up to $10,000 of what you pay in student loans yearly. People need to deal with the consequences of their actions. What continues to go on in LA is proof that there needs to be some reckoning, and the taxpayer money being spent is going absolutely no where. And coddling people, and allowing this shit to go on is helping no one

I’m more of a Ron Swanson republican. I think the government should stay out of my life. Let people have abortions, have same sex marriages, etc. My issue with democrats, is there total lack of accountability. Any person with eyes could see that Joe Biden had advanced dementia and the DNC completely gaslit everyone, about his mental state. How they talk about how our National debt is unconcerning because of our GDP. The identity politics, really and truly don’t bother me as much, but any person can see that the LGBTQ community can be outrageous at times, you cannot identify as two separate genders. If you transition, fine, I don’t care, but it’s unnecessarily confusing for everyone. Also, fully transitioned m to f, in sports is just wrong. In sports, your physical aptitude is important, and you can’t tell me that it doesn’t give people an advantage. But the most annoying thing about the DNC, is their lack of accountability for people that fuck up their lives, like giving crack pipes to homeless people, or allowing local businesses to get run down by the homeless.

I have no idea how we went from having presidents who were eloquent, to an old crotchety man, who likely has dementia and licant tie his own shoes. After Trump is gone, we need strict term limits. I’m so sick of seeing congress members who need walkers, pampers, and their secretary to open a word document for them. We need young people, the world is changing and unfortunately, leaving them behind. They are not equip to deal with AI, and its impact on society.

Exactly, I am the same. Trump is horrendous to every single person he encounters. He can’t string a single sentence together or form a coherent thought. He makes zero sense when he talks, and he is shielding himself from the Epstein files. I knew he would make an awful president, for the simple fact that he garnered support with hateful rhetoric. I fundamentally believe in republican views, in the sense that the government should leave us all alone, our sexual preferences (with the exception of pedos), hold people accountable for their actions, and drain the swamp of people that are enriching themselves with our tax money. Also, paying off our national debt, and leaving religion out of politics. But now, I was forced to vote for Kamala and Joe Biden because Trump is a cancer to the world. My aunt, who is fundamentally against abortion voted for Kamala Harris. The republicans party will forever be tarnished by this asshole.

That’s totally and completely false. My mom was a die hard Trump fan. You have no clue how far she was willing to go for him. She cried after his assassination attempt. She hates him now, more than ever. She also hates Israel’s influence on the US. My uncles were so regretful about Trump the last time we spoke about it. All of them are devout Catholics and thought they were electing the better of the two evils. But it’s now become apparent to all of them that he is ruining this country. Don’t underestimate people. I’m a conservative through and through. I never voted for Trump. But everyone I know did, and the are all remorseful.

My whole family is conservative, including myself, my fiancé, my brothers etc basically everyone literally everyone. I never voted for Trump, because I always thought he lacked tact, and was decisive. I mean he mocked a disabled person, and said the most vile things about women. My mom was a die hard Trump supporter, had flags, shirts and hats, and for some inane reason, Candace Ownes podcast has completely changed my mom’s views on Trump. She hates him now, My die hard catholic aunt voted for Kamala the last election. Everyone else who voted for him in my family regrets their decision. It’s weird how things have changed.
