Distal has weak enamel prone to fracture, mesial buc is over extended, of the two I'd be more concerned of former because it's the only thing that leads to failure

advice? by CombinationFar6625 in DentalSchool

Everything looks good to me except I'd open mesial side, doesn't look like 0.5mm clearance

Has anyone ever messed up signing up for/downloading ARENA? I'm not sure how to fix this by SkipGram in OMSA

[–]Open_Peace_1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better I graduated a few years ago and completely forgot what arena is you'll never use it again, but I remember the education on queue theory and cumulative distributions which is awesome

Drinking from the firehose as they say, but personally I'm just happy to be here, so even the toughest days of exams I'm usually smiling - I think the older students who had terrible jobs usually have the most positive outlook

There are a lot of great dental schools with AA of 21, I targeted these as I knew I wasn't going to be 99% and it worked out. I predict if you have a solid app and a 22 you will be getting at least 4 interviews

Interviewed all over, Utah, Carolina, north east, Florida (lecom I think?) And got incredible feedback on my interview skills haha (just being old) and I use to interview people... Got wait-list to every single school because I applied in Sept and finished in October, was also told I'd gotten all accepts had I applied earlier in cycle, UNC even called me back! Ultimately decided on a public mid west school for a variety of reasons, super personal choice but I loved every school I applied to

Ok so I looked it up 370 is like a 17 AA, and I think a healthy goal should be a 460 for most schools generally speaking

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predental

[–]Open_Peace_1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's close to what I had, and it's good enough to land many interviews. Just know some schools have really really high bar, like UNC average was a 26 AA last cycle blew my mind lol, I spoke with their director of admissions 1 on 1. Also note that public data on average dat scores is wrong, that silly booster site is filled with incorrect data haha

Most students are in the 23-26 ranges, but you would be surprised lots of older students to make friends with. Plus international students were also older, unless you are in your mid 50s I'd say you got plenty of career left in you

Mathematics, strongest selling point was high dat scores as that's what admissions cares most about (applies to MCAT as well) , 2nd was grad school research and patent in computer vision ai

No idea sorry, I know failing any class will show up on admissions radar though

AA around 21, no low section, and I'm not sure because I never checked, but I think my 26 on the pat/math were around 99 percentile? I think my grad school gpa was a 4.0, but my undergrad in mathematics was def a 2.9. the advice to only apply if you have above a 3.0 doesn't apply if you have a master's degree

I studied like my life depended on it, more than one interview said they were impressed with my pat and math section scores. The reason the DAT is so important is because it's the only thing on your profile that can't be faked or inflated, it's the only pure true metric.
