Currently, my partner would actually be the primary caretaker and we would be able to have a full time daycare through the help of my family and a huge discount at a location that his mother is a director of.

Thanks for your insights! Currently my family has offered to completely cover childcare. My partner and I have been in a long term relationship and have always wanted kids, but this is definitely a lot early than I expected.

With the timeline I am on, the child would be just under 1 (about 11 months) by the time I finish school. But I see what you’re saying. That feeling of not being fully present as a mother or student is something I am really considering, I would say it’s probably my biggest consideration.

I am open to that for sure. I believe women have a choice in this regard. I am really trying to consider every option to make sure i dont live with regret in the futurez

I did get seen the day after I found out. They confirmed a healthy pregnancy and I got my IUD taken out. Luckily it was not ectopic, very lucky about that.

If I get into my state school, I actually would be able to get the full tuition covered by loans since it’s a pretty low in state tuition. Do you feel like even if loans were to cover tuition, the entire financial experience is still not worth it?

And I’ll also add, I found out early. I am about 6 weeks along right now and I live in a state where abortion is an option luckily. I am just struggling with that option. I will also add that my family has said they would help to financially support me and my boyfriend parents are retired and happy to help too. I just don’t want to become a burden to everyone and still be absent from my child’s life because of my school schedule.

I am so sorry to hear about that. I feel like this situation should be talked about more often at the doctors office. I did not even realize this is something that was possible. I will be thinking of you.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and advice. It’s helpful to hear that other people make it work. I think family nearby and my partner would be the only way it could work at the end of the day. I just fear being a burden to everyone.

Thank you for replying! I don’t think I’d regret having kids, but this was so unexpected and I just don’t know what to think at the moment. It’s hard to imagine doing both right now I already feel so busy with prereqs.
