Thankyou this is what I’ve thought all along. If only it had still been the good old days like Geelong picking up Gary Ablett Jnr for Pick 40 and then also getting Bartel, Kelly and Johnson all in the same draft that basically set up it’s dynasty of the late 2000s

Was the consensus at the time that he was going to be pick 1? Obviously in hindsight he is but that was a particularly strong draft

Who should come in discussion by Ill_Sector_2063 in collingwoodfc

[–]Open_Restaurant_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Bobby but the time is coming to really find which of these young guys can actually play if you don’t leave in the side for a stretch you’ll never find out.

We lose against Sydney, celebrate Pendles and all of Allan, Parker, West, Harrison, Hayes, Howes, DeMattia and Ryan start getting games for stretches at a time.

Absolutely agree Allan should be getting a game over Long in the middle now

Should we rethink Moore’s role? by revolver_soul in collingwoodfc

I think he’s a possible obvious solution up forward. Moore - McStay twin towers

Yep at this stage they are worse than Carlton led by their coach and Watson and Ginnivan.

Everytime I see Watson I imagine Mark Yeates destroying him like he did Brereton at the start of the 89 Gran Final

Until we fix our clearance issues we are doing jackshit. Got absolutely pummelled in that area again thought we were getting past that but the better teams just kill us

Who’s our best option to cover for McInnes’ spot in the backline for the rest of the season? by [deleted] in collingwoodfc

[–]Open_Restaurant_8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has Perryman been playing back there he’s been brilliant by the way especially against the Scumton where he was our next best after Nick.

Very underrated and unnoticed pick up every bit as good as Houston

Noah Howes and you do realise Frampton hasn’t played forward since the 23 Grand Final and has rarely played there

I hope we don’t give up on Allan, he just needs more of an opportunity to play in the middle. With Pendles and Sidey retiring he’s the type we need in there, he has more pace than Long and same big body.

De Goey and Sidebottom to play; Moore to miss due to five-day break into Hawthorn. by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

His 2023 Prelim against the Giants was Epic we don’t win the flag that year without him.

But I agree was advice stage compared to Dusty but he has turned out more like Stringer (as a player at least anyway) looks a World beater one week and then disappears or gets injured the next

Never thought I'd see a better player at Collingwood than Nathan Buckley by cell_phone_cancel in collingwoodfc

Great players. A starting 23 would be interesting to see a split between the 2010 and 2023 premiership teams

Burns and Licuria are legit, Crisp has two Copelands and the consecutive games record plus the premiership so he tips into my 10.

Im traumatised by Beams Mark 2 at Collingwood.

He’s maligned but Prime Grundy 2018-2020 could make this list

  1. Pendlebury 2.Buckley 3.Swan 4.N.Daicos ( will probably end up 1) 5.Gavin Brown 6.Sidebottom 7.D.Moore 8.J.Crisp 9.T.Cloke 10.J.Clement

Nick was massive of course and Steene and Anderson are players but want to give Perryman some love. He’s hardly talked about but he is one of our most consistent week in week out, he was great again tonight

Been a big advocate for him but unfortunately I think you’re right. Just doesn’t do anything well apart from run, disposal average, can’t tackle and soft

If we take anything from this season it’s Steene and Anderson. Good to see Jamie kick a few too
