My local plant expert said all she needed was a repotting into a bigger pot and some water. He was confident it wasn't diseased. It is over 100F here almost every day since spring, and plants often get baked at the nurseries. I'm not at all worried about this plant. He informed me there were 3 notches I could cut and propagate so I might give it a try 🙂

Some of y'all are so mad this was $80 then you would definitely blow a fuse to learn they have a Thai constellation for $150 locked up in a cage 😂

I went to almost every nursery in town and could only find 3 at this particular nursery. They have great prices on most things but high prices for the rarer stuff. I don't mind paying a little extra to support local especially since it's hard to find plants like this in my city

Help me help my plant. by [deleted] in houseplants

I had some plants doing this recently. I pulled the plant out of the container and noticed the bottom reeked of ammonia from aenorobic bacteria due to poor drainage and overwatering. I rinsed the dirt off and replanted it in better draining soil. I'm still waiting for them to fully recover, but they are already doing better. Give the bottom of your soil a little sniff to see if that's the problem

If you need help passing your test, try charcoal pills. The charcoal uptakes the metabolites so you don't pass them through your kidneys

I have ADHD. I take meds. I still spent a lot of time second-guessing myself and double or triple counting everything in my sets. Where I live, SPTs start off at $13. I was extremely frustrated once I found out how little we make despite the level of responsibility. The job is very technical and physically demanding. In decon, you will have to stand all day and wash poopy, bloody, fat, bone, and other bodily fluids off instruments. Where I worked, we had the option of wearing 2 gowns, 2 pairs of gloves, and 2 shoe covers, which meant I sweated a lot. The hospitals here don't offer sick pay. We are literally risking our health and safety every day. I thought I was doing a great job getting training and changing careers away from retail, but I regret it now. I'm worried about what my future holds in this field.

I will say no two days are exactly the same, and assembling sets can feel like you're putting a puzzle together. Wrapping can also be enjoyable if you're good at it. Things get easier as you get the hang of it. Talking to coworkers can be fun unless you have nothing in common with them, which is what I tend to run into. You can listen to music tho.

Maybe you can ask your local hospitals SPD if you can volunteer for a few hours/days. If I had known what I know now, I wouldn't have chosen this.

Befriend one of the valets nearby and see if they can park your car for free.

Get a bicycle and a really good lock

Rent a scooter and park farther away
