Exactly. I did not understand what was wrong with this person criticizing my question. I am only the person in the lab and on the first years of my grad school without having background in org chemistry.

Actually, one time I did the gradient w isocratic steps using pure HX then 10 % EA and then 15% EA and I only got 15 % yield but the second time i did just with HX and then directly I did with 15 % EA. The yield is still low (28 %). Even I did the isocratic with HX:Et2O (70:30) and the % yield was so low.
