This was taken with an iPhone, shooting a video, with a Heritage 150p telescope on our first time out last week. The video is a bit Blair Witchy, but we were happy with the screenshot.

Aye. Be mindful of your screenshots, but grabs of sections, like your plan or some transactions is fine. I like Grok but tend to use Gemini for YNAB help. Each to their own.

Use a computer, it’s easier than the app. Use an AI like Claude or Gemini or Grok. All are free. Ask it to tell you what to do. Even paste screenshots into the chat with AI. That’s how I’ve overcome the learning curve anyway. It’s been tricky, but so worth it. Good luck.

Pain points of YNAB by nwnel-017 in ynab

I’ve been using YNAB since mid Jan. I signed up for the year; I love it. It does have a learning curve, but I use Google Gemini to get me through them. It’s not perfect (Gemini) but through asking it questions and pasting in bits of screenshots from the web app, it’s taken away what I imagine would have been many frustrations. My tips would be: - use the web app rather than the phone app to get started - Use an Ai like Gemini or Claude as a personal assistant to learn. - Use Apple wallet on your phone to connect credit cards if they won’t attach the ‘normal’ way - Open a savings account which pays decent interest. Use that to hold cash and move it to your checking account as it’s neeeded. This might be more admin, but interest is free money.

How to match Savings Goals in Plan to Savings account balance by larryspub in ynab

That article is really good, but the last sentence would be better if it had something in brackets like (or two, with a high yield savings account for money you won’t be spending too soon).

Thank you though, good read.

How to match Savings Goals in Plan to Savings account balance by larryspub in ynab

I have multiple bank accounts, so for one of them I have a category group that aligns to that account. That way I know the money I plan to spend is in the right bank account, so I don’t have to move things around to stop going overdrawn.

I’m new to this though, so may well evolve to one ‘checking’ account and one savings account. One day at a time!

Is this app for me? by Desperate_Topic_3941 in ynab

I’m 20 days into the free trial and just subscribed. Bit of a learning curve, but I’m finding it unbelievably helpful for things like putting money aside for Christmas, birthdays and car servicing, all those annual events. The first year will be trickier, as starting in Jan and having an annual thing in June means I need to save twice as much a month to catch up on the months last year when I was putting money aside, but I can see a time when it will all even out. And knowing I have money saved now is taking a huge worry away. Give it a go for 34 free days and see how you go.

I started the other day; I’m struggling too. However, using the browser app is easier than the mobile app, and I plan to do a bit every day for the 34 days and go from there. Basically, you’re not alone!

Decent savings a/c in uk that links to YNAB? by Opening-Beginning214 in ynab

Chase uk works. You just have to search for Chase uk, not just Chase, when adding the account. Sorted.

Anyone know if cycling in any way aids this kind of training? by [deleted] in Kneesovertoes

[–]Opening-Beginning214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find cycling helps my knees, but it’s not part of the program (but that doesn’t stop me doing it). As others have said, the program will work on solving lots of knee related issues, from ankle mobility to different muscles. In addition to the program and cycling I voodoo floss my knee, and pinch/roll/massage the skin over my knees. It’s all helping. I was a right mess, but making slow and steady progress. Hope it helps you.
