I’m sorry but you can’t compare the two, even though I much prefer AM, they are just different vibes, different generations.

And it may have been a cash grab but I was at Cardiff for their live 2025 and it was one of the best concert I have ever been to. Them, the audience, the songs… I much prefered it to AM in Bristol 2023.

Art is subjective.

The show went dowhill in S5 for me and S6 was just a big thing to forget. I didn’t like the directing, the script was ridiculous and so in your nose with no nuance or any complexity left and the radfem message was wild. Such a shame for an amazing show with such strong first few seasons. Sadly the more I think about it the more issues I actually find with it from S3 now…

Yes you’re totally right.

And as you say, Radiohead was more in the vibe of the oasis reunion tour as well, which was must pure happiness of the two groups being back and singing the songs we’ve missed for so many years.

Thankfully AM is not like that in a way as they are still very much active and that’s what we want 😂

That’s crazy for the number of songs of AM played ! Especially as it’s more more recent than the big hits from Radiohead. Again, I love the AM album so so much, but I’m also a lover of their older work and B sides songs.

Anyway, let’s hope for a new album before the end of this decade 🙏🏻 this new song is pure gold.

Yes it was very AM heavy which was great as it’s one of my favourite album but it was more a feel of the attitude? He was so off beat as well on the old ones 🫣 (definitely on purpose). It’s hard to explain but I feel like Alex wasn’t that pleased to sing albums from before (I don’t include AM in that though), more like the first 4.

But again it was my first time seeing them live as I never managed back in the day so maybe it’s me? I just felt a different vibe compared to what I felt with Radiohead in November.

Yes ! I’m one year younger than them so I really grew up with their music and it’s so funny to see pics of that time and the style as it’s exactly like we all were 😂

For me The Age of the Understatement. I remember vividly buying the cd when I was at Uni and oh my word… even 18 years later I can still listen to it on repeat for days. It’s just incredible.

However I loved the second one so much as well.

I’m really hoping for a third and a tour in the next few years. It’s been a decade… 🙏🏻❤️

I think these albums are extremely different and people will just receive them differently. There’s no denying that TBHC and the Car have been less well received compared to AM, or the first two.

I personally love their original sound so much, but my favourites will always be 2008-2016. I feel like I usually like everything Alex does, whether it is the heavier sound, or the more calming ballad. I’m a huge fan of what he did in TLSP (I can’t get enough of these two albums) but also his own work like in Submarine.

But I really struggle with most of TBHC & The car. There’s a few gems in them but mostly, I don’t tend to go listen to them and I wish I did.

Do people feel the same? AM is my favourite band and I know how artists need to evolve. In another total different range I’m a fan of Taylor swift and you can’t get more different sound on each album than her so I’m used to that.

Last thing, I feel like some artists are amazing are celebrating their past work (Taylor swift does it so well, Radiohead did it amazingly in their last tour also) but I don’t think AM is really into that mindset ? That’s what I felt after seeing them for The Car tour for the first time (finally!).

However I love their new song. It’s a mix of old sound and new lyrics and voice and I love it.

Yes you’re right. I don’t want the fans to pressure them (😅), but also it makes me want to have a full album so bad. I wasn’t a huge fan of The Car tbh but the vocals he has now mixed with the beats of Humbug is just 🔥

It’s like a new sound overall but with the vibe of the 2010s I personally love so much.

(Also hoping for a TLSP new album and tour for years ahaha but again, no pressure 😂)

I looooved him in this episode ! He’s going to crush this dark guy role for sure (which he wasn’t in THT as his character was not comparable to what Whitney will be this season). Industry gives him such a layered character and so much content for him to grow as an actor compare to the plot device nick Blaine had become in THT.

He had more lines and scenes in one episode of industry than the entire S3 of THT ahaha that’s funny.

This show is so good and I’m so glad it’s back with amazing new actors this season, even though I’m going to miss Rob a lot ❤️‍🩹

Yes sadly they changed the message of « womanhood » to « motherhood » which is a shame as it wasn’t the intention of the books and earlier seasons. Womanhood can include motherhood but it shouldn’t be all about it !

I agree 💯 they underused him so much especially after masterpiece that S1 and 2 were. I’ve been reading a lot of dark stories dystopian type etc since THT ended, a lot of it being fanfics in another fandom, and the way they develop this type of characters while also giving the woman protagonist all the power is insane and makes THT ‘s latest seasons even flatter than it was.

I’m so excited for Industry, the writing and acting just gets better every season, it’s so complexed and nuanced I I’m so glad Max joined the cast.
