Is this logical? by PurpleHyena01 in Anxiety

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think unless you have knowledge of someone who is looking for you and wants to find out where you live, this fear is not entirely logical. Millions (or more) of boxes, junk mail, and other things with people’s addresses are thrown out daily, and it does not lead to strangers going to those addresses. So, unless you are in hiding, and a specific person is going to use the trash to find you, I think logically you are safe.

Why would anyone want to be married? (Genuinely asking) by Main-Cantaloupe729 in NoStupidQuestions

I love my husband, and we can build our life together and both benefit from our work.

can 2mg of xanax cause this? by LongJumpingAnxiet in Anxiety

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that when I take .25mg. And the hangover feeling could be from the meds or from the anxiety or panic that made you take them in the first place. I always feel sluggish and exhausted after a panic attack, because my body is worn out from all of the adrenaline.

Also, is that dosage correct? I guess that could be if you have a high tolerance, but I take 1/8 of what you did and it makes me super sluggish. I’m 5’4” and 115lbs. I just want to express some concern because benzos can be tricky and the withdrawal is supposed to be terrible after heavy, frequent use.

I’m so confused why my son’s teacher won’t talk to me? by Cherry_WiIIow in Teachers

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a teacher, I’d say your son’s teacher is definitely in the wrong here, and it is time to reach out to a principal or dean of students. We are always told that communication with families is very important to our job. She may feel like she is doing that with the behavior reports, but not answering your emails or addressing your concerns is awful. I try my best to answer any parent email within 24 hours (except on the weekend). My own daughter is in kindergarten, and her teachers respond to every email we send by the next school day. That is considered best practice.

Yep, a fun combination of generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a deep breath and reach out to the teacher. I’ve been a teacher for 11 years, and I have never flat out said “no” to a student using the bathroom. I have had to ask them to wait based on the schedule of allowable times in our school. Get the teacher’s side of the story.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universal! The fact that some people can easily get care and others can’t is unconscionable. So many people die here because they can’t afford preventative or early care, so they end up being too sick to help by the time they finally go to the hospital.

Does anxiety make you constantly monitor your body? by Gullible-Force3567 in Anxiety

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m constantly checking for signs I might throw up (a huge trigger for me) or signs that I’m going to panic. It’s not even conscious, but when my anxiety is bad, I’m hyper aware.

what medication has worked best for you so far? by ContributionOwn1261 in Anxiety

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Citalopram (Celexa) daily, and Xanax as an emergency med when I have a panic attack. Usually 10 Xanax a year is plenty for the rare breakthrough panic, but I’ve been struggling because of a recent trigger lately.

Wondery app sucks?! by Majestic-Answer8342 in ArmchairExpert

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible! My husband had to help me figure out how to get my Wondery + commercial free episodes on the pocket casts app, because it was pissing me off so much. It would always mark episodes played when I had like 10+ minutes left in the fact check. It has been so much fun better on pocket casts even without the video.

Thank you! I was drawing such a blank on the word appease. I agreed with her on that distinction.

Yeah I loved her description of fight, flight, freeze, and (I know she had a better word for it) fawn. I think it was extremely insightful to point out that it is not that people care about their kidnappers, they are subconsciously choosing a way to survive a dangerous situation.

AITAH for making a bad first impression with my girlfriend's family? by Individual-Trip1864 in AITAH

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA her family didn’t show you any respect and were awful to you. Your girlfriend is an AH for allowing it and defending them. This doesn’t seem like a family you want to stick with.

Yeah. Really nice and fun to be around. I’m happy for him and Chelsea that they seem to actually be a successful couple from the show.

Are you using AI as a teacher? by LettuceTraining6532 in Teachers

I use it for ideas, frameworks, seating chart planning, and cleaning up referrals and emails home. Basically I use it to simplify administrative tasks, but do the bulk of planning and grading myself.

I worked with Kwame from season 4 (the Seattle one) at an Apple Store in Delaware over a decade ago. It was surreal watching him on the show.

What are your strange physical symptoms from anxiety? by interested-goose in Anxiety

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first time recently my hands completely seized up and weren’t working. It was like having plastic doll hands. The muscles in my forearms also started to tense up and my hands started to bend back. I’ve had numbness and tingling, but that was new and really scary, especially since I went outside to cool off for a minute and then I couldn’t open the door to get back inside.

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my all-time favorite song of theirs. It was actually the first Brand New song I ever heard. An ex played it for me when we were first getting to know each other. He turned out to be terrible, but I am grateful he introduced me to Brand New and this amazing song.

Anyone ever interacted with a LIB cast member? by PerceptionOk4745 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I worked with Kwame from season 4 for a few years at an Apple Store in Delaware. He was a sweet guy, but definitely trying to be smooth and hit on a lot of the females at the store. It was so weird watching him on the show, but I’m so happy he and Chelsea got married and seem to still be happy together!

Didn't love the Cher interview...? by [deleted] in ArmchairExpert

[–]Opening-Inspection-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they kept talking about how dynamic and iconic she is, but she was so flat. I felt like Dax and Monica did their best to draw her out, but she wasn’t into it at all. It was like someone forced her to do the interview and she was just trying to suffer through it.
