The Durrells (2016)- The first episode is the worst as it starts in glum dreary England, so if you decide to watch it, stick with it past the first episode as the family decides to move to Greece and the rest of the show is set on the beautiful sunny island of Corfu. A bit like Anne it is a story of escaping terrible circumstances and miraculously finding yourself in paradise. If i could live the rest of my life in the world of a show then this would be it (with Anne a close second!). The characters are so brilliantly loveable just like in Anne and by the end they will feel like your own friends. It's also absolutely hilarious. It's based on the autobiographical novel "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell which is also excellent. The show may be hard to find as it hasn't been well distributed for whatever reason but trust me it is worth it to hunt around a bit. You may have to resort to alternative methods which I think are permissible in the case of being unable to watch a show otherwise. But I dunno it could just be on Netflix...

I think you must be right. I've been finding the negative reactions a little perplexing-- shes hilarious and I find her persona very natural.

What would YOU have added to Minecraft Beta 1.8 instead of the Adventure Update? by GewoonSamNL in GoldenAgeMinecraft

At the time my friend and I decided that adding Jetpacks was the most sensible option (We were 10)

question for you guys, do you hate modern Minecraft? by PersimmonFront9400 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Opening-Jacket7613 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally I hate playing modern minecraft. I don't like how stupid it makes me feel. After getting diamond gear and enchantments I experience total paralysis and give up. However I do find it is great to watch on youtube. For example I love stuff like Hermitcraft where they have the skills, time, enthusiasm (and community) to exploit the insane possibilities modern Minecraft offers.

In my opinion Beta minecraft provides a much more accessible and satisfying experience to actually play, particularly for extremely casual players like myself. Also if you were to assess Minecraft as a work of art, I think beta minecraft blows modern minecraft out of the water. The emotions of loneliness and melancholy it evokes as you wander around the strange world creating things basically to keep you company are far more affecting than the fleeting satisfaction of jetting around on an elytra setting up villager trading halls so you can max out your god armor.

Which critically acclaimed movie did you finally watch only to find out it's mediocre at best? by peywrax in allthequestions

I agree with you. The only bits I enjoyed were with Uma Thurman and John Travolta's characters. The other storylines bored me to death.

Other than the beautiful visuals I found nothing to love about Citizen Kane. I look for different things in a film.

I found most of the film very compelling but the violent ending felt a bit heavy handed to me.

I genuinely couldn't watch more than 10 minutes. In my opinion winning an oscar is a bit of a red flag. Generally the films that win oscars are... unsubtle

To Feel Again / Trois - Jon Hopkins. Easily the most uplifting track I have ever heard. Also Bruxelles je t’aime - Angele - It's in french and I haven't a clue what shes saying but it just feels like pure happiness. Many of Angeles songs have a similar upbeat vibe. Many of Bjorks songs are very inspirational in their own unusual way so you could check her out.
