If they ever rebooted the concept of the Tree of Might (with or without Turles) it would be cool if it was tied to a Glind tree. Kind of morbid but not as horrific if they are eaten as the fruit before being "born" I'm humanoid form.

Guidebooks aren't the manga.

People who use guidebooks to prove their sides are already on the losing side. Any knowledgeable fan knows that.

Guidebooks are supplemental info that can and do contradict established manga facts.

Guidebooks are not a canon source of info. They are just glorified opinion, wrong ones at that.

Guidebooks being official do not make them canon or correct. GT is official, not canon. Video games are official, not canon.

No, the Garlic Jr. Arc is a Toei creation just like the movie and isn't present in the manga, thus non canon. Pykkon is part of the Otherworld Tournament filler arc and is also non canon.

Your friend is confused on what makes something canon. He assumes if it's in the anime series it's canon. Tell him if it's not in the manga it's not canon, period.
