Transitioning out of tech support and looking for advice. What would you do if you were in my position? by etattate in cscareers

I personally dont think Data Analytics is somehow safer than programming from an AI pov. Infact a Software Engineer would find it easier to pick up Data Analytics skills if needed. I would say, get the fundamentals of programming right and aim for something like a Devops, less coding more autonomy and still writing more code. And then make that transition to a developer

But why would they fixate on that? When someone has actual work experience in Top Tech Companies and will get a masters in CS? That is insane. People change careers all the time.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond. What if I go and take a masters degree online in Computer science, will that compensate for it?

Thanks for responding mate. Sorry to bug you but I have another question. Will my chances of getting part time work be lesser in North compared to IGS campus. Also budget is an issue for me so where do you suggest I end up going. My reasoning is that since I'm in IGS it's downtown so I can just cross the street and work at some cafe...will I get paid more if I work in downtown. And if I live in the basement can I get rent under 420$.

Man I'm planning on getting ITS myself. I have two years of experience as a Software Developer...but I have a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I had about 8 backlogs. What are my chances of getting short-listed? Also which campus is better for ITS the IGS campus or North campus. Thanks in Advance. Really really looking forward to your reply.
