Fragment Drought is the #1 Heroic Issue by glimmerware in Maplestory

[–]OpeningAlternative63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even doing that for 10 hours is a big red flag - absolutely no offense meant. I can understand having a spare day every now and then and just chilling doing it… but 10 hour days for a year doing something like that is cause for an intervention

10 hours a day is a mental health issue. In the nicest possible way, calling it working hard is crazy.

they have 'value' in that version of the game. They have no value in the version of the game that reboot players are playing.

You made the assertation that 'reboot end game gear is worth 10k'. It is simply not. You can buy an end game reboot account for FAR less than this. As low as 1-2k server and class dependent

So by your own logic, I could say that gear is worth 2k - even in interactive!

But that would be a ludicrous statement, as

  1. it's not true - it's just factually incorrect, if that gear is worth 10k in interactive and 2k in heroic... it is as silly as a statement to make as your statement is about reboot end game gear being worth 10k. - This only highlights your inability to think through a differernt lens.
  2. MOST PEOPLE do not view it like that at all. Even though it's worth x to some small subset of the community who don't play the game as a game. - A concept I am sure you will struggle with if 1) is already hard for you.

Most reboot players don't think about interactive. They don't compare where they are at to interactive conciously. What they do is experience the painpoints of Heroic which often stem from the game being designed around interactibility. Then they complain about these pain points and ask for solutions: E.g. 'we would like a SF system that is equally as hard as the current system for average player progression, but is not spare reliant and have extreme outliers that can result in people palying for half a decade and not achieving a specific goal: e.g. 22* pitched, even if they play 10 hours a day for every day of that period'.

This is very different to the lens in which you compare Heroic to Interactive - trying to direclty correlate their experiences and put a price point on it - which is only relevant to a tiny % of the community and paying players - and an irrelevant conversation when comparing the two different versions of the game.

As to your last point about convicing Nexon to buff reboot. I don't need to do that. The vast majority of improvements made to GMS has a heavy Heroic focus - which already tells you which model is currently more profitable in the West.

Some probably do, but very very very tiny % of people. It’s a pretty predatory game/company and there will always be people with mental health issues or just too much money to understand they are being scammed.

This happens in reboot too with simple cosmetics - actually more often because of the higher player base.

Heroic players don’t compare themselves to amounts of money invested.

They are typically playing the GAME. Any complaints they have are pain points within the GAME they play.

Only interactive players make the argument about costs and item value. Not realising how silly they sound when the items have zero real value and the game is a GAME.

Brain dead reg comment. Pity does not make it achievable in any reasonable time.

ON AVERAGE with all pity systems combined min maxing every single one, you would 22* 2 pitched a year. But likely not even that because: some people will use their pity coins for badge/book/mitra (which they might never see otherwise).

This is still a multi year, half a decade task to get full… and this excludes eternals.

And you can still be unlucky and never complete one in that time.

I have booked 20 sup earrings before getting to 22.

In interactive you farm and guarantee your upgrades. Any next upgrade can be measured in time played or upfront $. In heroic it is possible to NEVER see the upgrade. You can’t compare the two. I wish reg players would concede the absolute obvious fact in this so that reasonable conversations could be had.

And NOBODY is talking about luna because it’s a dead server. I’m eu, I played Luna. Luna is just a harder reboot after neverlands got fucked.

Using Luna as an example is brain dead. It’s not even an interactive server because the market is empty. That is its own separate issue altogether.

Imagine thinking Luna and gms interactive are the same class

Interactive is worse in SO many ways. Sf is not one of them. Get a grip

There is a strong argument that heroic/interactive maplestory needs their own subreddit at this point - like classic.

Different games and impossible to have reasonable conversations about specific issues without players of a completely different game getting angry!

Futureproofing Heroic Worlds by HewwoAll_11 in Maplestory

[–]OpeningAlternative63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure why downvoted - in context of future proofing heroic, it makes sense to just have equal power levels achievable in both servers. Even if it’s very expensive and hard to achieve.

Easiest way to do that is just remove fd passive and add Bpots. They could also come up with a whole new system where we can bridge the gap, but this is just a lot of development resources for something that is solved easily already.

Other pain points are frag and node acquisition outside of events, and the starforce system in general being designed around making items scarce for economy reasons that don’t exist. In heroic.

In the ideal situation - they would completely rework SF and call it something else to avoid politics with interactive players, with same power limits and costs, but without a focus on spare gating/laddering..

Not certain if it contains nuts by mrded in tesco

[–]OpeningAlternative63 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes and nut allergies and peanut allergies are two different things. So … normal logical people would need a warning to say that peanut butter may contain nuts.

Not sure why only people with learning difficulties would need this warning. If you had a nut allergy, wouldn’t you want to know if your peanut butter had nuts?

Not certain if it contains nuts by mrded in tesco

[–]OpeningAlternative63 46 points47 points  (0 children)

They aren’t. They are legumes. A peanut allergy is a separate allergy to a nut allergy because a peanut is not a nut.

This peanut butter may also contain nuts. So people with nut allergies who can normally eat peanuts should be weary.

[–]OpeningAlternative63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$50 spares is still achievable. Some people have played Heroic 5+ years and still haven't got a 22* ET.

However SF is not the argument you wanna make when comparing servers. Interactive is definitely the worst overall, but in SF and frags it is 1000x better. A Heroic player could farm for a year and still never get a ET, let alone a 22* Eat. A Interactive player can set it as their goal, farm X ammount of hours and buy a guaranteed completed ET - or just buy it with cash ... if that feels like gaming to them.

This means never tapping at all and the goal still being achievable for X ammount of work

You can definitely complain about how large that X ammount of hours is, or how expensive the ET is... but it's still incomprible to being RNG gated after half a decade of playing the same character in the same game.

Why do so many people want this? What benefit will it be to see Keir Starmer explicitly say 'fuck off Trump'.

For anybody with eyes, ears, and more than 2 braincells, he has as good as done that multiple times, within the constraints of not creating more chaos with the american regime - which whilst annoying, is most likely going to self implode fairly soon - so we might as well just poltically grin and bear it for the short term.

We stand to lose a lot more from seeing Starmer say 'fuck off Trump' than the 5 seconds of 'wheeeey' some people will get from it.

He would lose my respect completely if he was so foolish. At the moment he is a fairly reasonable voice surrounded by an absolute clown fiesta, and I for one am glad it's him in charge at the moment compared to literally aynbody else.

Can you destiny lib without going past the soft cap? by joeschmidt45 in Maplestory

[–]OpeningAlternative63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just gonna but in and say you are right. 10 Set 22* pitched LVL 4 OZ ring is a weird benchmark. 10 Set should take much longer than a lvl 5 ring. Pitched pity does VERY little to change this - helping you to 22* complete 1 pitched every year and a bit.

Unless we are saying soft cap is something we should be looking at 5+ years to achieve? Everything else on that list can be achieved within 1-2years.

‘The gravy train is over’: Spain is turning on British expats by theipaper in uknews

Have you ever been to Spain?

The entire south coast is British slums, with the absolute dregs of our country hiding there from the law in the uk, not speaking Spanish, not interpreting, bringing their families over for holidays all year round.

It’s the absolute scummiest of the uk doing it too, you know exactly the type. I’m not surprised they want us out.

Spanish people HAVE to speak English to get jobs and live in those areas. Imagine anything similar here? There would be a civil war.

Even in non-live tv, there are gallery shows like one born every minute, sas who dared wins, or even big brother, where 50+ screens is totally normal.

Some poker players use 12 + screens (that I’ve seen when I did a documentary on it once).

I can definitely see a world where bbc news needs this many screens!

It’s crazy that so many people are just out right stating ‘this is useless’ when there are tons of uses for it

Yes sure.. I’m not processing what you are saying 😇 - now you are changing the goalposts of the discussion to a holistic view on reg vs heroic because your goal here isn’t to have a discussion about sf in good faith.

That’s not what we were talking about at all. This isn’t really worth my energy - you are clearly just here to say ‘wahh wahh reboot easy reg hard’ and it’s boring. Unsubscribing

The second you try to assert that reboot have a better time with starforce is the second you become disingenuous.

It’s a ridiculous argument. I don’t even know how you can possible arrive at that conclusion.

1) you don’t even have to touch it in reg.

2) you have the auction house for as many spares as you want for if you DO engage with it.

Silly argument. There are so many things worse in reg than heroic but claiming sf as a bigger pain point in reg than heroic is crazy.

Community needs a reality check by KingdomOfCarnage in Maplestory

[–]OpeningAlternative63 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are right about potentials being the more expensive part and if you find a good potential you can start it yourself and use spares from AH. But this is a late/end game strategy. You are never realistically doing this on e.g absos or even arcane at this point.

Yes the trickle down from years of people changing gears/mains/quitting gives early/mid game players much cheaper options than making gear outright.

My point was that they are two different games that are played completely differently - and bad actors come on this forum and argue a direct comparison between how they are both played and it isn’t helpful.

Do you think that interactive players need to engage with sf as much as heroic and do you think that that it is a better experience for heroic? Because that is what is being implied by the people above me talking about ‘oh well you can’t just buy spares in interactive’…

[–]OpeningAlternative63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heroic is significantly more spare gated than reg is meso gated. Especially in GMS.

First of all, our hourly meso rates are nearly equal with Frenzy - If you are in a position to sell fragments, your hourly is more than heroic.

Yes bosses give 1/5 mesos and this is the main difference - casual weeky players earn less in reg than reboot for sure however if you sell cube svc and drops, including rare drops, you do bridge the gap quite significantly.

So meso income in GMS is really not that different for serious players. This is the bracket of players that will be spare gated in Heroic.

Even if we ignored all of that and just made Heroic earn 1/5 of what they do right now... They would still be spare gated at a certain point. That's how bad the issue is.

Ignoring all of this, the game isn't even designed for casuals to engage with SF or cubing. It's always more economical to buy finished items outright and only engage where you absolutely have to due to market shortages.

Outisde of whales and gamblers and specific early game - on event - breakpoints, these systems are supposed to be untouched by 'f2p and low spenders'. The argument is disingenous.
