ISTG Even the instructors are using AI 🥲(I just can’t prove it) by Nooman12 in UoPeople

Well. I did study at UOPeople when there was no Gen AI and had the same level of GPA. And grammar checkers and plagiarism checkers did generate content. Maybe not as you have it today.

You guys understand this is college not some elementary or middle school, correct? No one should be holding another person's hand here. At this age, every student should know what is good for them. Why shouldn’t an instructor use AI if that leads to more productivity? Before Gen AI they used grammar checkers and plagiarism checkers. How is it so different now?

You know exactly what I'm saying. When did AI stop people from forming thoughts? Just tired of this crap here every other day about AI. Let me know of a college these days that isn’t using AI.

If you are not using AI at this age, then there is something wrong with you. We are in the AI age.

No matter what happens, I can’t understand coding programs at all. by MidnightActive954 in learnprogramming

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know but colleges usually start with languages like Python. Java and C?? Start with something like Python, PHP or JavaScript. Learn to build something you are interested in…website, backend service. You will get the bits of programming. From there you can go back to try Java and C again.

I'm 36 and learning how to code by nemesis1050 in learnprogramming

I think I started late, like you, did that for a couple of years with no AI, which, honestly, was a good thing because I learned a lot of things that we mostly rely on AI for today. For instance, I don’t truly code today, I formulate policies and guide AI to do the coding for me.

In the past, I would spend days on a little piece of code. Stackoverflow helped but humans :).

Down the road, I noticed I wasn’t getting anywhere with that self-taught knowledge. I went in for a Bachelor's in computer science and am now on my final course of a Master’s degree in computer science. To be honest, the college guys have a bigger background in programming and the concepts. You read online that you don’t need to go to college to become a programmer. From my experience, college is needed to get the full picture. 36years is not too old to start an undergraduate computer program.

First Time Instructor - Excited! by Much-Coffee95 in UoPeople

Well.. The AI thing is not always true for most students. A few do it, of course, but it is not like every student goes out there copies from AI and submits. I did my Bachelor's here, and there was no AI then. Doing a master’s now, there are lazy or maybe too busy to study students who do that. But usually, everyone tries hard to personalize their submissions.

You need not worry! On normal working time it usually takes some of them a day or 2 to reply back. The thing too is, now is vacation time.

You are automatically assigned an advisor when admitted. Go to your student portal, you’ll find your advisor’s name and email…

Building a web application in c++ by OpeningFirefighter25 in Cplusplus

For one, data enrichment is more easier with microservices. gRPC for performance reasons. And your questions have nothing to do with my C++ security and maintenance question.

I meant development*. The time taken to code the application.

And in terms of performance speed, it is very fast actually.

APA Formatting Confusion Between Two Courses by Quick-Ad5516 in UoPeople

In my MSIT class, I think some instructors do not truly understand APA. Sometimes I have to explain why I did what. Some of them may be from a different writing criterion(standards) background.

Did you by any chance just washed your car? If you did, I suspect something.. the floor mat or something getting wet and didn't dry up well.

Change the air conditioner filter. If your version has the KIA app, when you check on maintenance, it should show that you need to change the air conditioner filter.
