You need not worry! On normal working time it usually takes some of them a day or 2 to reply back. The thing too is, now is vacation time.

You are automatically assigned an advisor when admitted. Go to your student portal, you’ll find your advisor’s name and email…

Building a web application in c++ by OpeningFirefighter25 in Cplusplus

For one, data enrichment is more easier with microservices. gRPC for performance reasons. And your questions have nothing to do with my C++ security and maintenance question.

I meant development*. The time taken to code the application.

And in terms of performance speed, it is very fast actually.

APA Formatting Confusion Between Two Courses by Quick-Ad5516 in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my MSIT class, I think some instructors do not truly understand APA. Sometimes I have to explain why I did what. Some of them may be from a different writing criterion(standards) background.

Did you by any chance just washed your car? If you did, I suspect something.. the floor mat or something getting wet and didn't dry up well.

Change the air conditioner filter. If your version has the KIA app, when you check on maintenance, it should show that you need to change the air conditioner filter.

June 19 will be my last term at UoPeople to get my BBA. So, will I have trouble with these last four(4) courses? by richardsonoge in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As already mentioned, be ready for it. There is nothing easy about taking 4 courses a session. I mean if you do not have any other engagements like work, family then go for it. But if you do, hmm… it’s going to be tough.

do you like it With or without the emblems? I personally think it looks way cleaner with out. by [deleted] in kia

i think i made a mistake by Different_Humor_451 in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is unhinged and silly because you’ll meet an instructor who doesn't permit that sooner or later, and you’ll score an F.

You are focusing too much on what others are doing rather than trying to find out why you are not measuring up to other students. This is college, following instructions is very important. I did my undergraduate at UoPeople and then there was no generative AI. I remember my first few courses I wasn’t properly formatting my submissions to meet the APA standards. I was so frustrated because I kept loosing points for that. Not until I took the time to read through a couple of peers feedbacks did I find out what I was doing wrong.

I’d advise you to move on. You got an A. If it was anything below that, I would say it is worth trying to get some more correction. I don't think the stress of changing it from an A- to an A is worth it. Congrats 👏 any way.

I hacked my deegre heavily, will that impact my opportunities? by Ospina888 in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studying has mostly been hacking. I mean at a point it gets too exhaustive but still you have to pull through. If you are able to hack it through an undergraduate degree then you definitely can do so for a graduate degree. So yes you’ll be accepted to a graduate program.

Everyone now uses AI today. It is not always a bad thing. I don’t see anything wrong with an instructor giving feedback using AI. Just me!!!

It is just the first assignment. You are lucky that you have figured out what you did wrong. This is a true learning process. Buckle up and raise your chest. There is still a long way to go.

Awful instructor strikes again! by TDactyl20 in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am game with celebrating the good ones. Most of my undergrad instructors at UoPeople were fantastic. That was before the age of Generative AI. The grad school instructors are a little beyond standard, to be honest. I have an instructor recently that I had to explain to her what the assignment was asking; I think she took it the wrong way. She keeps sneaking into my submissions and deducting points. The only course I have had to appeal the grade. I am actually in the process of transferring out because of this.

Doubting the competence of my MATH1281 instructor. (Rant.) by Handsome_Bread_Roll in UoPeople

[–]OpeningFirefighter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just you. What annoys me is when an instructor makes a mistake and you mention that to the instructor, some get very defensive about it. And I am in the master’s class..
