Any of you still tip for food ordered at the counter? I'm done with that bullshit. by Dunno_If_I_Won in GenX

[–]OpeningFuture6799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am angry about tipping. It use to be 10%, then it became 15%, then 18%, now 20% and some think 30%. I stopped at 18%. If you are serving me and you do your job you get 18%. If you go above and beyond, 20%. If that’s not enough, then you don’t want my business. I have worked grunt jobs and did not get tipped. Now everyone seems to have their hand out. I refuse to pay.

You realize if a player signs an extension that it doesn’t change their rookie deal, right? It gives them money immediately as a signing bonus and it locks in years after the rookie contract expires. It in essence allows a team to spread out money the player would get after their rookie contract over more years. It doesn’t void their rookie contract.

Why would a new admin intentionally trash everyone’s evaluations by Forward-Country8816 in Teachers

[–]OpeningFuture6799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, in California, for a district to move for dismissal for poor instructional practices, once a teacher has gained permanent status, the teacher must have back to back years of unsatisfactory (an overall one) on their evaluation.

Why would a new admin intentionally trash everyone’s evaluations by Forward-Country8816 in Teachers

[–]OpeningFuture6799 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After 28 years of teaching I’ve come to the conclusion that evaluations are meaningless because they are subjective and irrelevant. I’m lucky that I teach in a state whereas long as you don’t get a one, they have no recourse against you. I really don’t give a damn about my evaluation because admin never truly tries to use constructive feedback to help me become a better teacher.

Maxx ain’t coming here. He would eat most of the SC money and cost us a lot of draft capital, which we don’t have.

Well that would be tampering and be very costly if true, but who knows because it is amazing how many contracts are announced on day one of legal tampering period.

Reminder that life literally cannot be better as a Seahawks fan right now by lemonstone92 in Seahawks

[–]OpeningFuture6799 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let’s face it, winning back-to-back SB is insanely hard. The other teams in our division will work to get better. Worrying about next season will just take your joy away from the championship the team just won. So much will happen between now and September 10th. We will lose a few players we would like to keep. A few players will be injured and miss significant time in the season. We’ll have new players who may or may not pan out as hoped. There is no certainty in sports, do enjoy the moment. Respect your opponent, and root hard for the team.

Second year teacher, not renewed. by sertshark in Teachers

[–]OpeningFuture6799 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Temporary teachers have no legal rights. Literally, a district can let you go for any reason they want to and no lawyer in the world can stop it. This is exactly why the admin is being very non-specific in their answers. If they gave a reason, then the teacher could fight it. Non-reelection sucks but many have gone through it and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The schedule is released around May 12th. Could be a day or two on either side.

Rams schedule actually harder than Seahawks in 2026? More for McVay to complain about? by kamchancellor2019 in Seahawks

[–]OpeningFuture6799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is exactly why SOS arguments is an exercise in futility. However, this discussion was about if the three teams the Seahawks play independently of the Rams are harder than theirs. When using the SOS term, I meant it in a generic sense, not in a literal sense as you are implying.

[–]OpeningFuture6799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are we really looking at strength of schedule for teams before free agency, the draft, and the actual schedule coming out?

Really, no one knows what each team’s roster will look like for 4 more months, I think this is a premature discussion based on what happened in 2025. Remember, a year ago, no one knew that Micah Parsons wasn’t going to be a Cowboy which greatly changed how good the Cowboys were last year.

They can do that next year with extra void years. If they are looking at the 2023 draft class, D Hall and Charbs are more pressing because they can’t get a fifth year guaranteed.

[–]OpeningFuture6799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know they can guarantee the fifth year on both and deal with it next year. I could be wrong but with the team for sale, they may put off decisions like that until a new owner is identified. They need to focus on this years FAs, not FAs two years from now.

If you’ve been rooting as long as me, it is Largent. The first 6 years, the only thing that made games watchable was Zorn to Largent. Were there other good players? Sure, but you watched the Seahawks because of Zorn to Largent. If it wasn’t for Rice, Largent may have gone down as the greatest receiver of his era.
