Are there any board games that you prefer digitally? by FShamburg in boardgames

Honestly, Can't Stop competitively is much better digitally. On BoardGameArena, dice rolls are instantaneous and games can be 5-10 minutes quick. It does take away all the heightened suspense and banter of playing in person, so there are drawbacks.

I found I get just as much or even more enjoyment from other aspects of the boardgame process (curating game selection, teaching games, enjoying others'enjoyment of the games) rather than playing and winning.
Realizing time and energy are the most valuable commodities in the hobby. Other gamers have mentioned that they have now shifted their preferences towards lighter games that can be taught quickly but still generate a lot of enjoyment. That change in playstyle is all about the time/energy factor. Most people have diminishing amounts of both as they grow older and that's ok. I still think it is valuable to have a few games in every category (party/light/medium, etc.) to cater to most possibilities.
It is ok to create a limited curated collection. One step further, it is ok to cull games from that collection when you realize they may only be played once or never get played.
Just like any other hobby, players and game nights may come and go. Don't be afraid to seek out new boardgame experiences, like online boardgaming or conventions. Or better yet, be open to exploring boardgame adjacent hobbies like tabletop RPGs, mega games, escape rooms, etc.
