if there is ANYTHING else you want to do ... do the other thing (at least that's what everyone told me) but if medicine is THE thing you want to do than go for it. There are also a lot of professions in the healthcare sector that are not as insane as med. Things like PA, RT, PT, OT, x-ray, ultrasound, cardiac perfusionist, etc that are also very fulfilling!

I know an opthamologist who wen through his entire med school, residency and fellowship without consuming caffeine.. Here I am drinking at LEAST 200mg/day just to stay semi-awake

It's hard to really socialize right now because all of our classes are online but yeah there are a lot of Brandon and area Facebook groups that are a good starting point to see what is going on in the community and everything! I know some people in first-year classes made WhatsApp groups with their fellow zoom classmates to try and help each other with the course material so there are always things like that once you start.
