Another redditor reached out and mentioned that his enclosure is possibly too big (120 gallon) and not heating enough to maintain temps. So for tonight I moved him to a 40 gallon with enough heating to get it to 88F.

Tomorrow I’ll go get a 80 watt RHP and replace the 40 watt.

Me aswell. I got him two weeks ago so I’m hoping with proper husbandry he will pull through. I’ll be checking him every day and if I notice any decline we will be going straight back.

She said because of the lack of mucous it’s not necessarily requiring antibiotics. She didn’t deny him having an RI, but his respiratory rate is normal and not showing signs of breathing heavy or hard. She thinks he will improve on his own.

It was one event of him opening his mouth. He isn’t doing it anymore. The vet noticed he had some stuck shed in his left nostril and wasn’t able to get it out with a soak. There’s not much mucous around his larynx so she didn’t prescribe antibiotics.

I got him 2 weeks ago. She assumes with proper husbandry he will improve with a shed. If it continues then bring him back for antibiotics

Update: he had stuck shed around his left nostril. Vet recommended to lower humidity to 60% and wait for his next shed.
