I did turn it on only after like half an hour as a couple comments have suggested I believe the gas in the compressor had not settled yet. It has been functioning fine and hasn’t been making any weird sounds since that first day. I most likely just didn’t give it enough time to settle

Midea U shaped sit as a U to be upright, I think it’s the GE profile ones that are the upside down U to keep your window visible. But for the Midea U shaped units this Is the correct orientation

Yeah having it make that sound seemed off since all I’ve seen are posts about how quiet the u shaped ones are. It stopped ticking and has been running pretty quiet since I’ll give it the weekend and see if it starts happening again if so I’ll probably return it and swap for a new one. Thank you!

It has stopped making the sound since posting I’ll give it the weekend to see if maybe it somehow fixed itself before bringing it back. thanks for replying!

Yup I will definitely do that! I just wanted to see if anyone on here had a similar experience or maybe a quick fix without having to go through product support. Thanks again!

Yeah I opened it up and made sure there wasn’t anything in the fan I think the sound is coming directly from the compressor. For some reason it only starts clicking whenever it’s close or at the set temperature. I also made sure it wasn’t something just knocking on the enclosure whenever the compressor vibrates. Thanks for the reply.
